I will not mock other programs until we come out with only 1 loss, to Michigan.

Re: KState loses to Northern Colorado at home

That is pretty bad, but, then again, I would remind us all we've had some solid (in the end, after coaching and time to gel) teams the past two years pull this:

    (L) to Drake in 2011
    (L) to UNI in 2011

Then that team played solid in the conference, won an NCAA tournament game to start UConn on its long, dark journey into night, and gave (eventual national champion) UK all they could handle.

    (L) to Iowa in 2012
    (L) to Texas Tech in 2013

Then we won another NCAA tournament game, and gave Ohio State it all, missing a Sweet Sixteen appearance by an inch (a few shots here and there, a few bounces, a few calls, pick your cliche). These early season losses to under-qualified programs are not good, but, as we have shown, they don't tell you everything, particularly with "new" teams and coaches that need some time and testing to come together.

Two of our best seasons came after early losses to Drake.

Fair enough, but let's not try to start a trend

Never happened. None of those losses ever happened. We play well in Des Moines. Super well. Great even.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Oh wow. Maybe the loss of Angel and McGrudder was too much to come back from.

I know one K St. fan and he always runs his mouth about football. I made sure he knew the score from the game last night.

Weber will end up in the MVC in three years, which is where he belongs.

Wichita State job will open up soon, so there's a spot waiting.

This is a great day. I have seen both Hawkeyes and Wildcats come into basketball threads and try to talk football. Love it.

I always thought people were crazy for picking KSU ahead of OU. Lon Kruger vs. Bruce Weber... Who are we kidding.

Obviously not, since this is a basketball thread.

Out of KSU, WVU, TCU, Tech, and Texas, I'd be disappointed to go worse than 9-1. I'd expect 10-0, honestly.

I think we could go 4-0 against OU and BU but might drop the road game(s). Then there are KU and OSU.

14-4 isn't too far off realistically; maybe 13-5. The bottom half of the conference sucking sure helps.
