Picked up a 6er of Deschutes Hop Trip. Solid. Also you cannot go wrong with Sierra Nevada Celebration. Excellent fresh hop beer.

I have a black ipa on tap that I used fresh, homegrown Cascade for the flameout/dry hop additions. It's probably the best beer I've made.

Picked up a 12-pack of Winter Lager today at Hy-Vee in Altoona. Also snagged a 6-pack of the Red Hook winter seasonal. I've never had it before - haven't tried it yet. I will report back.

    Re: Sam Adams Winter Lager

Sam Adams Cream Stout hands down is the best Sam Adams beer. It's a world class stout. Other than that I don't really like what Sam Adams has to offer. Their Oktoberfest and Cherry Wheat are alright.

Currently working through a six-pack of Shock Top. On a Belgian White kick right now.

Surly is one of my favorites but I prefer furious. I hope this new plant means they start serving Iowa.

Furious is my favorite year-round beer, but Abrasive and Wet are great seasonal beers.

    Re: Sam Adams Winter Lager

I used to really like Sam Adams Winter Lager (it was one of the first craft beers I ever had) but I completely burned out on it a few years back.

Sierra Nevada Celebration is by far my favorite Christmas/Winter seasonal beer these days.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Ruination is the way to roll if you want to kill your taste buds with hops. I'll drink it occasionally but it's usually a last beer of the night/day.

I'm kind of burnt out on the whole home brew thing. I like doing it but then I have 50 beers of the same thing. On top of that I haven't made anything that I would consider excellent.

Great Lakes is really good stuff. Wish I could find it back here in Iowa. I got a 24 pack sampler and I loved every beer that was in it.
