I know a couple of people who work there. All indications are that it's great place to work. Fun environment.

WebFilings just got done building a brand new building and decided during the process to move corporate HQ to Ames, so they are building another almost duplicate building next to the first. I interviewed for a job there but wasn't into the whole 'work 95 hours/week' culture they have going on.

Used to be that Wallaby's and Whiskey River were the same owners right? I know that a lot of the food was the exact same from the same vendors, etc. Not sure if that is still the case.

Wallaby's and Dublin Bay, I believe the owners are brothers. Not sure about Whiskey.

That said, I think you get all the beef jerky you want. BEEF JERKY!

Angie's right: Wallaby's and Dublin Bay. The couple who own Whiskey River and Founders in Bondurant are good friends with the owners of Wallaby's and Dublin Bay.

Now, what the dude at Wallaby's needs to do is talk to the dude at DB and get him to bring back the good cheese balls, not these new ones that they added recently.

While walking by the empty lot north of El Azteca in Somerset this week I noticed utility line flags in the ground and some other materials that look construction-related, kind of like framing laying flat on the ground, but maybe that's just to mark out the footprint of the building. Looks like Wallaby's is moving forward with this?
On the WebFilings topic, they hosted a Python Users Group meeting in November I attended to check out the facilities. Pretty nice. Gourmet cafeteria, gym, racquetball court, half basketball court, all the worker desks were hydraulic and could convert between sitting and standing desks. Seems like a great place for hungry young ISU graduates to stay in town, make decent money, and grow the Cyclone Club base...
For any fellow IT enthusiasts, if Webfilings hosts any more public user group meetings it'd be a good chance to check out their space.

Pretty excited to see this get done even though I won't be living anywhere in a 2 hr radius of Ames anytime soon. Hopefully the rooftop bar plan didn't get axed.
Somerset is building a nice little restaurant area out there with this, El Azteca, and +39.
