    Questions about Johnny's

I've been gifted tickets to next three WBB games and was told they include wristbands to Johnny's. I've never been inside Johnny's and was wondering what it is like. I don't drink alcohol but my friend says they have free hors d'oeuvers. Can you just chow down without buying anything or is that considered to be in bad form?

Usually you also get tickets for free bottle of water. We often take our girls in there before the game and at halftime to enjoy the food (my Dad has multiple wristbands that come with his courtside seats) Have never purchased anything (pop or alcohol). Enjoy, the food selection is usually pretty good. Often will see Pollard or other university higher-ups there.

We've been in there a couple of times for game watches when they allowed the peasant class within the doors (just kidding...we donate what we can, but not nearly enough to be regulars there). The food was decent, beverage prices weren't terribly outrageous...it was fun to enjoy a game with friends. They haven't done that for a few years though; I wish they'd do it again.

Overrated and it has ruined the gameday experience at Hilton. The food is ISU dining's finest... so horrible. Everyone goes there before the game until tipoff and at halftime until the second half starts. So they are not in their seats which hurts the atmosphere. Think football games where everyone finally gets to their seats are the game has started and the team gets to come out to a 1/2 empty stadium.

How many people does this joint hold? You can't tell me that 8,000 or so people go in there and hang out up until the opening tip.

Absolutely not poor form. In fact, I don't think most buy anything. They've got complimentary heavy hors d'ouzers, popcorn and desserts along with water, tea, lemonade & coffee/cocoa for free. Not enough for a meal, but more than just snacks. Coat check is a nice touch too. Lots of TV's to check in on the other games. It's a nice luxury and cool to be inside but not one that is going to blow your mind.

    Re: Questions about Johnny's

I've never been in there for the women's games, but for the men's games you can definitely eat as much as you want. However, there is usually a line, but don't worry about what other people are thinking. The food is there to be eaten!

It's a nice place to see people you know or meet new friends.

I disagree with CrazyGreg. I don't see how it has "ruined" the atmosphere at Hilton. If anything, it's added a nice touch.

Stupid post is stupid (the post im quoting) To the OP: Go there for all the mens games, dont worry about what anyone thinks about you, the majority of them are just like you worrying what others think about them because they feel they dont belong. Everyone is very welcoming, do whatever and have fun.

The women's team comes out at halftime to lots of excited young kids lined up to give them high fives. I highly doubt they notice the 100 or so people grabbing one last snack in Johnny's.

Absolutely untrue.... the number of fans who can actually get into Johnny's is tiny compared to the overall crowd. The "late to their seats" crowd would be late to their seats no matter what.

    Re: Questions about Johnny's

Went into Johnny's last night, it was OK, nothing spectacular. Had some pulled-pork then at halftime some popcorn. FYI made it back to the arena in plenty of time to see the team come back onto the court. It's a nice perk, I'll go again at the next game.

Wondering that myself now. When it first started, there was a minimum donor level required for admittance. Has that changed?

Also, is the criteria different for entry during different events (MBB, WBB, Wrestling, Volleyball, Gymnastics)?

    Re: Questions about Johnny's

    Nevermind...found my own answers (Directors level = $12,500, Victory level + $5000)

Johnny's access is available during basketball seasons for the following:
Men's basketball: Directors Level donors with men's basketball season tickets and men's CourtCYd seat holders.
Women's basketball: Directors and Victory Level donors with women's basketball season tickets and women's CourtCYd seat holders.
Clyde Williams Society: Legacy Level ($1 million and above) and Investor Level ($500,000-$999,999) donors with men's and or women's basketball season tickets.
