    WBB v Wayne State

A little early for a game thread, but the pregame article is here: Cyclones to Face Wayne State in Exhibition Play - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

Projected Starting Lineup: Hallie Christofferson, Brynn Williamson, Nikki Moody, Jadda Buckley and Seanna Johnson
The first four were pretty much a given. Seanna and Kidd will both play 25-30 minutes regularly regardless of which one starts.

Excited for the season to start! This is just the first of our many really exciting and memorable non-cons at home this year.

    Guess the score: 85-38

AP poll just came out. ISU is #23. We're #20 in the coaches' poll that came out earlier.

I bet BF has watched a bunch of the men's practices and talked to Fred about playing all of these guards. Excited to see this kind of team. I'm expecting a little better offense than the past couple years!

Wayne State is a good DII team. Might be close early.

    Re: WBB v Wayne State

Wayne State is no pushover, this will be tough early, I'm curious to see how this small line-up does rebounding wise and defensively. Looking forward to a more free flowing offense too.

Yes, it is time to rain threes again. Can't wait and everyone should get into the next two games.

    Re: WBB v Wayne State

I believe Wayne State's coach is an ISU alum, so he'll have his girls ready to play. They are usually a solid team, but I don't think they are near what they were when they had ISU transfer Ashley Arlen leading them. I just saw that they are picked to finish third in their 16-team Northern Sun conference.

BF has been running small lineups since CFH was still in college. Maybe he can pick up a few tricks from the CFHs NBA days though.

Correct, and he's a former intern under Fennelly with a DIII National Championship under his belt. Wayne State Wildcats - Staff Directory

    Re: WBB v Wayne State

Just looked through the WSC game notes:

The team returns all five starters from last year's squad that finished 17-10. Starters for today for them appear to be:

    G - Ashton Yossi (5'8", JR, 13.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.5 apg) - Dallas Center, IA
    F - Ellen Hansen (6'1", SR, 9.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.8 apg) - Ames, IA
    G - Addy Roller (5'8", SO, 8.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 4.5 apg) - Purdy, MO
    F - Jordan Spencer (5'11", JR, 15.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.3 apg) - Omaha, NE
    C - Shantel Lehmann (6'3", SR, 4.0 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.4 apg) - Wadena, IA

Three of WSC's five starters hail from Iowa and their starting forward is a native of Ames.

I also noticed that the Wildcats have a 6'6" girl on their roster, but it doesn't look like she gets a whole lot of playing time.

Pays to read the posts here! Wildcats coach interned under Fennelly (is successful in his own right) and the team returns a lineup of veterans. This could get interesting.
