Me too, Kirk as backup 1/2 has his strong points, but shooting isn't one of them. I'd rather have a 3rd stringer that has some length or can really knock down 3s. Kind of surprised he's still suiting up. I don't think it's homerism to think DG could give us more than Teague or 38 year old Mike James.

Good for him, he will get picked up just has to stay focused. As for Royce I just hope he succeeds in his life just because he may not make it in the nba doesn't mean he can't still succeed.

Hinrich could probably still be an effective starter for a lot of teams.

No, it's not. Shooting is not one of Kirk's strong points. See career .379 3pt %. He is adequate, but not a guy that can regularly hurt the opposing team from sagging off at the 3pt line.

    Re: DG to the Energy

To followup on my last post, in the most recent season (2012-2013), Hinrich shot .390 from 3pt, which placed him 66th out of 469 NBA players. 13/49 qualified shooting guards, or 23/90 qualified guards (includes point guards). So, he is above average as a 3 pt shooter.

Stats say he is a better shooter than I had in my mind.

Where does DG's 3/15 shooting from 3 last year put him?

The narrative goes that earlier in his career he was having to do too much/worn out, so his stats were down, I believe. I think he has had a good career and is underrated in many ways.

Not on the list as the low volume doesn't qualify.

I agree - I think he is a great team member and underrated as a player. I always liked him on the national US teams. Seems to me that there is a spot on any team for a hard working, pass first, get teammates involved type point guard.

Two things to note with Teague are that he's relatively cheap, and he is only 20 yrs old.

To clarify I meant I'm surprised Teague is still suiting up for every game, not Hinrich. Hinrich is not a very good shooter for an NBA guard though, it's really apparent when he plays starter minutes. He's had a very good career because he's good to excellent at pretty much every other phase of the game. I love him on my team, just the Bulls don't have a lot of 3 point skill in their starting lineup, and don't really have it on the bench either.

Point is, we have two guards who've been suiting up the last two years I'd easily trade to give Babb or DG a shot. (James and Teague, not KH)
