    Kick block expert

david irving has blocked 2 kicks this year already. Got me thinking, why dont colleges walk around campus and find a couple 6'10''-7ft guys and have them walk on to the team and put them in on kick block?

I get if youre that tall and arent playing bball, you have no athletic ability but you can at least jump in place w/ your arm out right? Plus youre not hurting anything by being out there if you miss.

Because how many 6-10" - 7" guys are there walking around campus that aren't already on a sports team?

If our games were decided by 3 points or less... I'd be inclined to look. So, IMO, there are other more important needs to spend our time on.

If you can finda 6'10"-7'0" guy willing to walk on to the football team and engage in all workouts and practices with the only prospect of playing time going in to occasionally try to block a kick...I am for it.

I knew of at least a few when I was in school. They wouldnt have to go through all the workouts theyd be like kickers/punters

Can we find a punt-block specialist while we're at it?

Kickers and punters don't just show up, kick the ball a couple of times and then leave. They have drills and things they have to do on top of lifting and all the other things the rest of the team does.

Well you make it sound like you think that they don't do anything.

I guess to me, if you were that big and in any sort of way athletic or had any desire to play sports at all you probably already would.

    Re: Kick block expert

Matt Blair was a huge kick/punt blocker, the only guy to block a kick during a superbowl game as well. His secret was that he played basketball, so he knew how to elevate at the right moment.

What's Niang up to during the off-season next year?

My roommate last year is right around 6'10" I'll give him a call and tell him to walk on midseason.
