    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

Looks like on google maps, Squaw creek runs very near a couple cemeteries upstream. So, the theory may be dead on ...

I had no idea how atrocious the referee favoritism has been this season until you hit the stats. Just another wow.

It's one thing to notice referee favoritism in a single game, but when you put it all together for a season, how can the Big 12 defend that?

That could be a problem, I'm not sure we have enough Chiz coins left to fight away all that evil. We might have to throw in a few Hawk fans and Bugeaters for good measure.

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

First of all, I think ISU is still paying for keeping OSU out of the national championship from the Big 12.

Second of all, if I had a Chizik coin, I would take the afternoon off and drive to Ames to throw it in Squaw Creek.

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. And only 7 out of 10 of the o-line two deep is injured??? How can that be an explanation for the offensive woes????? I'm looking for a emoticon with a dunce hat, but can't find one to put here.......

I can remember when under McCarney ONE o-line starter goes down and there goes the season. I can tell you this: If ISU's 7 injured get back to 100%, ISU is going to have one of the nations' best 3rd string o-line next year. Word.

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

Clearly the only reasonable way to combat this is to find a virgin and sacrifice them. I'd suggest one from a visiting team and since TCU is a good christian school we should be able to find one easily, right?

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

    Blum- This is fantastic.

I love your creativity with pieces like this where you completely come out of left field and somehow tie it into ISU sports.

This reminds me a lot of the OSU piece that you wrote after the 2011 game called "Adjustment Bureau".

Great work Brent and a big thanks to Chris and CF for putting out quality content.

Thanks both for all that you do.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

Great article Blum. That is a crazy stat about our first 1st-down by penalty coming with 8 minutes left versus OSU. I know that's not much of a reason for this debacle of a season, but that is amazing

    Re: BLUM: Squaw Creek Evil

"First, let's entertain a history lesson. Jack Trice Stadium was built near the Squaw Creek river, a tributary of the South Skunk river. The Sauk and Meskawki tribes originally referred to the South Skunk river as "Shecaqua," which in their language meant "strong or obnoxious smell." The waters once featured hoards of wild onions, thus the unpleasant aroma. But it may have been more than just onions which led to the obnoxious designation from the tribes. Amongst the hydrogen, oxygen and onions undoubtedly lived another malicious force: evil demons."

I have a very good friend that went to TCU, he likes to say "Christian is just our middle name".
