Coaching.......it is not rocket science. Albert Einstien was not needed to watch the Liberty Bowl and realize someone was not really earning a salary. Life or Flu or Pride or not.
You heard it here first....but the next bowl ISU will ever be in will be the 2018 Liberty Bowl. We are done for a few years.

Sorry. I assumed we were recruiting students who would enroll in school year-round. My mistake. Yes, we need to recruit Texas better. No excuse that 4 and 5* Texas talent isn't coming here. Carry on.

    Total 128

I don't know what the scholarship breakdown is, but I would guess nearly all of the walk-ons are from IA.

I don't quite understand the emphasis on FL. That's in the heart of SEC/ACC country.
    In contrast to us:

OU has 43 from Texas, 29 from OK, 4 from FL.

OSU has 74 from Texas, 36 from OK, 1 from Fl.

    Comparable to us:

KU has 29 from Texas and 23 from KS, 0 from FL.

KSU has 27 from Texas, 67 from KS, 2 from FL .

Teams have to figure out a way to recruit Texas.

Why? Is Texas talent better than Florida talent? Because FSU, Florida, Miami, etc would disagree. As long as it isn't Iowa talent, why does it matter from which state they come?

At this point, I can't answer that question. But, for competing in this league, which is were we compete, we need more talent from Texas. Even Rhoads has said guys play better when the compete against known players and coaches that may or may not have recruited them. Same holds true in IA and FL.

Most importantly from the games I saw, I recall feeling he was pretty innovative and I liked the pace/flow of what Fresno was doing. He's a former college QB himself and coached at Utah in that system. Without knowing anything more, I would say he stands a good chance of being an upgrade.
That's exactly how I felt watching Fresno St play. who knows if this guys is on anyone's radar in our administration. but seems like a guy who could come in for a couple years get a pay upgrade from fresno, then move on to bigger and better after he gets us a conf championship.

The reality is we are not going to pull in any really top notch assistants from teams like Fresno st. Any hot prospects from teams at that level will have better options than us.

Flynn is interesting...knows TX, knows ISU, knows coaching as he's been around it his whole life. If he can be an evil genius at O coordinator...take the shot.

Are you serious with this? People on here are wailing and gnashing teeth about finishing above .500 in the conference and you are thinking about championships? Well done.
