Does that make sense? It literally looks like I'm just watching people videotaping each other right in front of me. I guess with my other hi-def TV's they just aren't detailed enough to have ever noticed this before.

I know this is really random and "first world problem" comments are applicable but does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Even The Walking Dead was kind of painful to watch last night but on the flip side, the NFL games were incredible.

As others have noted above, Plasmas do not have this issue as it "processes" video differently (probably a better technical term I could have used there). I love Plasmas, btw.
Not trying to make this and LED vs Plasma, but unless you are in a high light area. Plasmas are the way to go still.

I actually prefer it. I'm in the camp that its like whining that my sneakers are too nice. It takes a while to get used to, but I bet if the majority of the people gave it a shot and let themselves get used to it, they'd end up preferring it as well.

There really isn't a debate. Plasmas get better picture quality, and overall a better bang for your buck. Only downsides are image burn(which isn't much of an issue), energy consumption (overblown issue), and glare. The final one was the dagger for me. I had a plasma for 7 years and loved it, save for the fact I couldn't watch the damn thing before noon without using blackout blinds on every window in my living room.

Re: My new TV is ruining watching TV for me

Had the same issue with my TV when I first bought it. The picture was almost too real (if that makes sense).

But, after using it for a while, I don't notice that anymore and would have a hard time going back now. Give it some time, I'd guess you'll adjust.

Re: My new TV is ruining watching TV for me

    I just got a Vizio 3D smart 64".

Took it out of the box, slapped HDMI's to DirecTV and a Samsung 3D Blu-ray player and off we went.

Picture is awesome in 3D and regular.

What is it I'm supposed to turn off?

But I know what you mean too. But what pisses me off the most is those freaking Samsung SmartTV commercials. Back home we got a fancy one and whenever a commercial for the TV comes on and starts off with "Hi TV. Play sci-fi" my TV ******* does that. There was one commercial where it showed how you turned it off with your voice and it turned my tv off every ******* time.
This is hilarious. Probably not to you, I am sure!

Re: My new TV is ruining watching TV for me

When I first got my Samsung a year ago, I felt the same way ...... almost felt like I was watching them making the movie/show on the set. Seemed sort of fake since we were seeing "too much" detail. That said, I have gotten used to it and don't notice it at all now. Took a couple months to adjust to it.
