Re: Is the secret scrimmage this weekend?

I figured Creighton would beat us as they have a mature and good team.

Hopefully we can use it as a learning opportunity. Also, I have to say, I'm glad we played it on their court away from our friendly confines. Obviously no crowd so it's not like a true road game, but you don't have the familiarity of your own facilities.

Every time Doc Sadler is involved in our scrimmages, we lose. EVERY TIME!!
Now "Coach" Fred brings in the enemy to destroy our program from the INSIDE! How can he not see this? Does JP not offer him a vision plan? Are we just trying to fail?

Dang it. Somebody bring me a ticket. I'll Sadler that thing to ashes.

JP knew this was coming. That's why there is fire on the the ticket image this year. It's a sign.

Re: Is the secret scrimmage this weekend?

I don't think we will be as good as we were last year. I expect a few more losses at Hilton (my bet is we lose to Iowa, Michigan, Kansas, and Oklahoma State at home this year) I also predict an NIT appearance. I feel pretty ****** after all this kool-aid drinking.

I personally think we will tight 2 of the 4. No way we loose all four of those games.

Re: Is the secret scrimmage this weekend?

Didn't we apparently lose to Nebraska two years ago with Royce White? I don't put a ton of stock into the beginning of the year anyway unless we're just flat out terrible and it's obvious. Sometimes even the best teams (not saying we're the best) lose early season games to teams they shouldn't (see North Carolina losing to Santa Clara by double digits in 2004 when they won the title that season). It should be said though, that Creighton is an experienced and fairly decent team anyway.

It's funny that the overreactions started out as jokes and then people actually started to overreact. It's a scrimmage. We're testing how different players play together, building chemistry, and testing how the offense is run against a team other than ourselves.

Not that it means much because its a scrimmage but I heard from my friend from Creighton that the starters were Kane Thomas hogue ejim and niang.

Re: Is the secret scrimmage this weekend?

In all honesty I don't think the scrimmage means much. I don't even know if it is an actual regulated game as much as it is an opportunity for both teams to try out different plays, player rotations, test out strategies, and kinda warm up to the competition. Fred Hoiberg is working out the kinks with this team and it will be a long and difficult process for the die hard basketball fans. We will lose some early games, but it will help Morris, Thomas, SDW, Long, and Hogue pick up some D1 experience.

Speaking of Morris, Hogue, SDW, Thomas and Long....what if these guys actually suck *** at bball this year? As underclassmen (idk about Hogue) we can't expect them to play at the same level as seniors such as McGee, Clyburn, and Babb. What if we have just been drinking a bunch of kool aid on these guys as we did with the football team this summer?

Sounded like we played Creighton close. No shame at playing a close game against a really good and experienced team early in the year. I believe we got a good team this year.
