Conference Schedule looks favorable for young team

Just looking at the first few games of the conference schedule for us this year, and it looks like it meshes pretty well with a young team to make some noise:

Sat, Jan 4 @ Texas Tech

    Tue, Jan 7 vs Baylor

    Sat, Jan 11 @ Oklahoma

    Mon, Jan 13 vs Kansas

    Sat, Jan 18 @ Texas

Sat, Jan 25 vs Kansas State

    Wed, Jan 29 @ Kansas

The bolded games are the ones that I see being the most difficult, but we get 2 of the 3 at home. Not to mention Michigan and Iowa at home. Seems like a VERY favorable way to start the season with a bunch of new faces.

I'm with him a bit, @KU is the first hostile environment 7 games into conference. Now, Baylor and KU twice in the first 7 games isn't ideal, but we also avoid OSU. I don't know why he didn't just cut this off at 6 games or extend it to 8 because we play vs OU after that.

And the non conference, playing big games at home is huge. Playing Michigan and Iowa will give us ridiculously good experience for playing KU, OSU, and BU in conference.

I dont know why, but this schedule just made me realize the gap we have between weekend games in Hilton.

Nov 17 Michigan- Jan 25 KSU (though after that we have 4 straight sat home games)

Not that its as much of an issue as football is, but it seems weird for some reason.

Auburn and Iowa on ESPNU on a Monday and a Friday along with KU on Big Monday on ESPN will soften the blow of no Saturday home games.

Got three tickets to the Baylor game in the student section. That game is so pivotal I think. It's too bad the students wont be there for that game, but we will be loud!

Same here! Got 4 tickets in row 4 of student section. Going to try to make up for the students being gone.

That Texas game last year was wild when the students were gone. Really impressed by our crowd that day.

No! I'm serious as a heart attack. I'd much rather have our guys be in a friendly environment when being tested by the top of the conference. I don't like playing KU twice in 2 weeks, but it is what it is. I highly doubt that our first road game (and first conf game) will be another stinker to Tech like last year. Not to mention that by the time conf play starts we'll have played Michigan, BYU and Iowa...among others.

What, you'd rather have away games at KU, OSU and Baylor and play TCU and Tech at home to start?

Re: Conference Schedule looks favorable for young team

I really wish we had the students there for the Baylor game. Too bad we didn't play @Baylor first, then host with the students in full force. That is a very important game and could go a long ways in determining conference standings.
Oh well, old people will just have to turn it up a notch. (no disrespect as I am now one of those "old" people)
