Once again, he's a grown man and can choose to act that way on the field. In Waino's defense his was a series clinching strikeout for those that wanna point out that play. Puig going nuts after hitting a game 3 triple while still being the loser in the series is kinda what I would think what rubs people wrong. If he does that in a game 7 to win the game: Celebration city all you want.

To me it's more about the situation the game/series is in. I hated watching Joba Chamberlain bcuz he would celebrate like nuts after a strikeout in meaningless inning of work or when getting blown out. I liken it to what a lot of people on here have said they hate: Think of when a DB in CFB gives up a 25 yard catch and lights someone up and starts celebrating. Kind of annoying huh?
Puig was also 0-11 with 6 straight k's in the series at that point. It's not like he hit a high pop fly to shallow right. He hit the **** out of the ball and it was 2 feet from a homerun. I agree with you for the most part, but take each play in context, and a guy like Beltran should just keep his mouth shut.

I'm not your "bro"... what "dude" or "broski" didn't want any of this?

You pointed out that "Waino" was celebrating a series ending play... I was pointing out that ol "Waino" showed up opponents during a series they LOST (after blowing a 3-1 lead).

Remember guys... the Cardinals players want us to respect the game!

    Re: Puig Celebration

Tony LaRussa was always the best at saying one thing and doing another when it came to unwritten rules.

EDIT: For example, when he used Pujols unintentionally getting hit as a reason throw at Ryan Braun during the middle of a pennant race. (2011)

    Lol, butthurt much?

I was pointing out the play that just happened in the NLDS to beat the Pirates, you chose to bring up the other instance you did and include it in quoting me for some reason when I wasn't talking about your post.

YET AGAIN. No problem with what Puig did or what Waino did. You must really have it out for the Cards so continue to hate I guess if it makes you feel good or whatever you gotta do. Don't come at me like I'm Beltran and I personally said or agree with those things. Just cuz I'm a fan of a team doesn't mean I back everything that comes out my teams player's mouths. That would be stupid.

I have no problem with celebrating at the right time in sports. Puig's excitement was just fine with me, I hope the Cards continue to celebrate when they do awesome stuff in big moments too just like in the past.

I'll take some more of this:

So, to avoid confusion, let me reduce this "unwritten rule" to writing:

Rule Regarding Celebrations: In choosing to celebrate, a player shall take the utmost caution to ensure said celebration is appropriate given time and situation. To effectuate the aforementioned rule, each player shall consider the following conditions to determine the veracity of said celebration: number of outs, wins in the series, inning, current state of the lunar calendar, and the frailties of the opposing pitcher. A celebration may be deemed excessive, and thus in violation of this subsection, if and when Tony Larusa, or another appropriate member of the Cardinals organization, past or present, deems that the veracity of said celebration exceeds the other criteria mentioned herein. The penalty for a violation of this subsection is a baseball to your ******* head.

    Really? "lol" and "butthurt"? Seriously?

I am pretty sure that no one here really cares that YOU don't have a problem with it.

The points being made are that the Cardinals are trying to be the baseball "fun police"... They are criticizing Puig's actions all while they do the same exact thing.

Im a Cardinals fan, and it doesnt bother me. He is the one that looked like an idiot for doing it, and might have cost his team a run. Luckily for him, it didnt matter anyway.

What would is there to be sad about?

    Re: Puig Celebration

Cubs fans need to hate. Hate away. I'm sure that if Jon Jay did that last night it wouldn't quite be the same argument. Way better players than Puig get beaned after less. I've never seen a bat toss that high or far. Not to mention the look-at-me catch he made in the next top half. If he wants to act like that after going 2-13 with 7 strikeouts so far... whatever. Oh, but he plays with emotion! Yeah, nobody else cares about the game. Show alittle class. It's what's right about baseball.
