What would you like to see saturday

I'm usually not one to count a loss before it happens but I just don't see us winning saturday. With that said there a few things that would be great for me as a fan

1.) Sustained drives on offense, less 3 and outs to give our defense a break. We've struggled sustaining drives all year and more often than not, just go 3 and out. Thats not too fair for the defense.

2.) GET A DANG INTERCEPTION DB's!! We have one interception on the year. Thats horrible. Our DB's might have the worse hands in the country. Baylor is going to be passing it a lot saturday. I know Petty only has 1 interception on the year, but I swear if we have 2-3 more dropped INT's I'm going to lose it.

3.) Continued good special teams play. Only reason we had a chance saturday was because of special teams. Kirby is going to be punting a lot on saturday, giving Baylor a longer field may help us a little (doubtful as there good at bombing it downfield) but it was good see Kirby bombing them saturday.

4.) Better play calling out of Messingham and improvement by the O-line. There is no reason they should be getting demolished like they are. Yes they are young but getting blown 5 yards off the ball consistently as a DI, BCS conference lineman is unacceptable, I dont care if thats harsh.

5.) Please dont let Baylor score 63+ points on us, even if we do manage 42 points (Rhoads would rave about Messingham getting it done against Baylor's stout defense, giving us a reason to keep him around.....)

Re: What would you like to see saturday

I would like to see the offense look at game film to see what has and has not worked against the Baylor defense and then game plan from there, rather than trying to figure out what the OC thinks the offense has a chance to do well in general. I would also like to see the team run a play that is successful repeatedly until Baylor stops it. Really would have been nice to see the option run a few more times last week, as TT did not handle it well, even though it was clear Sam was not going to keep it.

    1) Rohach at QB if Richardson isn't healthy
    2) A game plan that is insistent on running the ball, and does so creatively. By creatively, I mean more option (didn't that look good last weekend?) and a decent number of jet sweeps/reverses involving guys like Jarvis West
    3) Defense taking advantage of whatever miscues Baylor may make. Don't drop picks, don't miss loose balls, etc.
    4) A coaching staff taking every possible opportunity to win the game. This means not sitting on it with 1:15, 2 TOs, and your offense rolling at the end of the first half.

    Break Luke's arm in practice??

“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.”

Re: What would you like to see saturday

...I'm watching the end of the BU/KSU game right now. It seems as though being real fundamentally sound is what kept KSU in the game--they seem to pursue real well on D, and the offense plugged along in chunks. An INT at the end did them in. This is going off the limited amount, so don't know what the rest of the game looked like.

In other words--some real fundamentally sound football on both sides.

Re: What would you like to see saturday

Honestly, what I would like to see is our offense move the ball and chew up as much clock as possible to keep BU's offense off the field. We have to be more aggressive on 1st and 2nd downs and not get into 3rd and 8 situations. I'm not gonna get down on our D if we give up a ton of points, because, well, it's Baylor. As long as the guys go out and fight and play Cyclone football, that's the best we can ask for.
