That's quite the paraphrasing. And you also got that I'm a CPR apologist out of that. Interesting indeed.

Down years would be acceptable if there were also "up" years. Not the 6 win kind of up year.

Well, we lost to U N I at home and a horrible Iowa team at home.

The only team we've beaten also lost to Rice and Bowling Green.

And that's a good reason to engage in extreme negativity?

I had hopes we might pull off a win today, but we didn't. That sucks. However, I also know that we've been hit hard by injuries, across the offensive line, Richardson, Wimberly, Brun starting corner Jansen Watson, and doubtless others along the fringes who usually don't get a lot of mention--Pierre Aka among them.

That doesn't mean that I have a knee jerk reaction to (re)start calling for coaches to be fired, questioning the head coach, or moaning about how it's going to be a one-win season--before the season is even half over.

I think two years watching the offensive ****show with Mess at helm, and five years of this system is not a knee-jerk reaction.

    Knee jerk????

Other than a couple surprising wins, I don't think there's anything to indicate that CPR is going to be taking us to the next level anytime soon.

Re: Simple Question: Why so much negativity?

I am genuinely fine with this being the rebuilding year most should have seen coming. Being young and inexperienced is bound to happen once every five years or so. I figured we would lose today by 2+ TDs and that we would not win more than 4 games this year, yet I am disappointed, maybe even discouraged.

We have an ability to play better. Our mistakes on offense under CPR are disgusting. Fundamentals are failing to improve and the overall scheme has been a failure. Every week that goes by the realization of this becomes sharper, and thus an increase in negativity.

    To answer the original question:
    1. because we lost AGAIN
    2. because we lost for the same reason - the offense - AGAIN

Everyone is sick to death of losing, and losing for the exact same reason over and over again. We've been watching this movie for a long time.

Then you're seriously mistaken, and attempting to explain why would be an entire waste of my time and energy.

It might have something to do with their defensive front seven completely dominating us for the entire game today. They were able to stop the run sometimes with only six men in the box.

Re: Simple Question: Why so much negativity?

We've been outscored by 9 points...this year. We've lost our 4 games by a combined 22 points. For most, me included, it's hard to see somebody be so negative about a team that is one of the youngest most inexperienced in the league. On top of all that it should be painfully obvious that this team is getting better, weekly. How can that not be at least a little encouraging? How can you not see that improvement with a young team and find positives? I don't find this team very hard to cheer for...they play hard...they don't quit when they get down like some teams do...they played most of this game today with a patched together O-line, a hurt qb, and a hurt starting Corner.
