    HD or SD

So I don't subscribe to cable/satellite, but am an OTA and Netflix person. The one thing I have bought in the past is the season pass for The Walking Dead, in HD. We all have to have a vice, right? And mine is anything zombie related, its been my favorite genre for 4 decades.

So I am buying the pass for season 4. The price difference between the HD and SD season is $15. I will end up watching this on my iPad .... so is the SD version a big of a drop off that I will regret not buying the HD version?

And yes... $15 bucks is $15 bucks... if its worth the price, I will step up.

Man normally I'd say HD no doubt but $40+ is a lot of scratch for 1 season to me, I'd guess on the iPad you'd probably be fine with SD. On the other hand if it's something you enjoy an extra $15 probably isn't bad.

Well it's a vice since we don't subscribe to pay TV. And those are the same points running through my head. I'll try the SD and see how it goes. Thanks.

I always rent SD on my ipad, I cannot tell the difference since I dont have the retina display.

    Re: HD or SD

Would you ever have an AppleTV and want to mirror it on your TV? Then I'd definitely do HD.

    Re: HD or SD

I don't think you'll tell much of a difference on that small of a screen.

I buy a lot of crap on Amazon Instant Video. If the price is real close I'll spring for HD but quite honestly I often can't tell the difference even on my TV. I think my BD player upscales streaming video too because SD looks damn good.
