Brian Schwarte will move on from football program

    Just a quick note...

I've been hearing this for a couple of weeks now and am 100 percent sure of its accuracy. In fact, FootballScoop.com has gotten ahold of it today.

Iowa State's Director of Football Operations, Brian Schwartze, has taken a job outside of the world of football. It wasn't that there is anything wrong with the program or anything like that so there's no point in reading into it.

I'm hearing that Iowa State will replace Schwartze from within the program, likely with two men filling the role. Will not be a huge change and will not affect anything that you see on the field as the ops director does not coach.

Brian is an outstanding guy. I'll miss seeing him around the offices. He has put a lot of hard work into Iowa State football over the years and I wish him nothing but the best.

Too bad, but glad that it doesn't appear that there is some big issue.

As far as replacement, I would think that they've got to find a place for that GA Derick Day. Not sure if the Ops position can recruit, but if it can then that would be a great position for Day since he seems to be really, really good at recruiting.

    The ops director cannot recruit.

What does an Ops director actually do? Is he responsible for more of the logistics of the football program, like budget, travel arrangements, advertising...etc?

They evidently also call other schools recommending they bring in additional security...

This is correct. It is an admin role. Camps too I think.

By chance, is the director of football operations in charge of locker-room security? just reading between the lines here.

No. And you're way off. This has nothing to do with that.
