I had a 10 piece after Oktoberfest last weekend. It was fantastic.

    Not that McNuggets aren't gross.

I don't think I've actually ever had a McNugget. Chicken nuggets, yes, but not the infamous McNugget.

They are like a chicken nugget from anywhere else, but fortified with heartburn, mud butt, and do-do smells worse.

Though I'm not really surprised or concerned. Muscle tissue (you know, meat), skin, and blood vessels are all things you'd find on whole cuts of chicken too.
The 6 piece must have been too pricey for them.

It is what Arbys' "beef" (beef loaf of recontituted beef stuffs) is to real beef, not what anyone would think of as actual chicken meat.

It's really smart use of by product making it taste good and popular. Ain't healthy, but it's not like they are selling a premium product.

Is this muscle tissue, blood vessels, and skin from some other animal besides chicken?

Price of the nuggets and amount of breading volume and kids who eat them who aren't satisfied or are obese because of lack of good protein and carbohydrates, No one should be surprised. This stuff is safe and edible, period. Just stay away from fast food, it is easy.

Of course they sell a 20 piecer. It might come in two ten piece boxes, but it's 20 pieces.

Re: Apparently, not a lot of chicken in that nugget

You can make a chicken nugget from pure chicken breast meat, but they would be too pricey for fast food. Let's face it, deep frying anything already took the healthiness factor down 10 fold.

The muscle tissue, blood vessels, and skin, all probably come from mechanically de-boned chickens (MD), which is basically squeezing the extra pieces of meat off the bone after the breast and other primal cuts are cut out as too not waste any product. It's perfectly safe to eat, but looks much more disgusting than "pink slime" that the media had a field day over, and put companies out of business. If the wrong vegetarian media person saw MD, they would have it all over the news (kind of like this) on how bad it is for you. Even though it is still probably much leaner and better for you than a steak for instance. It's the deep frying it that makes it unhealthy.

The wife actually did this for our daughter today. They are actually pretty good. But a McNugget is tough to beat in a pinch.
