    Offense next year...

Looking at the TTU depth chart the only offensive starter we don't return is Justin Coleman. With the additions of Lazard and Montgomerey I think it's safe to say the growing pains of this year may be worth it. Omoile and Dagle beat out guys that were previous starters. We have a lot of young talent. We as fans just need to be patient.

2014 is set up to be a lot better. Just to win some games this season to keep the fan base invested

I noticed a change on the depth chart: Darius White replaced Alton Meeks as the backup to Brackens.

I think that means its official that they are redshirting Meeks this year, and that is excellent news!

Lalk is also back on the depth chart, backing up Burton. I expect that means he'll play sparingly, like Farniok did against Tulsa.

I have been anxious to see him on the field, great size and was a 4 year starter at manatee IIRC.

    Re: Offense next year...

Since we're seeing them do some thing in actual games, I finally believe that the offense has potential and will realize it.

This team will be pretty good next year. Not too bad this year, but we'l see the growing pains this year.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Glad they can redshirt Alton. That either means that since we are in conference play they expect to play enough nickel to not need him, or they are confident in Darius as the backup. Regardless it's probably a good thing.

    Re: Offense next year...

I agree that this offense could be really good next. Since, it appears that it will be very difficult to make a bowl game I would really like to get a lot of the young players some experience. I would like to see Rohach get some significant time as well. We've seen just how vulnerable a running QB can be and having two good / capable QB's is a good thing.

I'd imagine it's some of both.

I've posted this elsewhere, but you'll notice that after the UNI game, Rogers has only been in for nickel packages. I think they have had him focusing just on that one position in preparation for Tech and OSU. We are going to need him a lot the upcoming games. I love what he brings to the table, with his size and ball skills.

Jarvis West plays more than Coleman it seems so we really don't lose much on offense.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Playing bad opponents does not make this a good offense. Our "signature game thus far was a loss (texas). Next game will be a harsh reminder.

Nobody said it was good this year.

And it is ironic you mention this week because Tech has played absolutely nobody.

Tech beat TCU and who's to say TCU is not at least as good as anyone we've played?

Texas Tech beat SMU, SF Austin, TCU, Texas State, and Kansas.

Those 5 teams have a combined 10 wins. 6 of those are against FCS opponents and TCU played SMU, so one of those teams had to win.

TCU is not a bad team by any means, but not great by any means.

Tech is not a juggernaut is my point.

    Re: Offense next year...

Need an O-line that can really push people around, and need more improvement of people fitting into what the offense is meant to do (what that is also needs to be determined).
