But NW's recruiting classes have always been in the bottom three or four in their conference, just like us.

I don't hate Ames at all. But you didn't answer my question, why do so many young people leave Iowa? I will guarantee you that Chicago doesn't have that problem. Two of my college roommates took jobs out there after graduation. It is a ton of fun for young people.

Ames is a great town. Chicago is a great city. There is a difference.

Re: Any reason why we aren't as good as Northwestern?

Baylor used to suck big time and now look at them. They used to be an easy win back in the day. KU was really good a few years ago and K-State was really good the last 2 years. It seems like all of the schools that used to be worse than us are now better and have had more success than us in recent years. Yet we're stuck barely making bowl games every year.

Surely you can accept there are more attractive places than Ames, right? Just because I don't think it is the absolute best doesn't mean I hate it. Life doesn't have to be in absolutes - its either great or terrible, you either think it is great or you hate it.

Do you have any evidence to show that we recruit better than them? They've had higher rated classes for 4/6 years, counting 2014, that Paul Rhoads has been coach.

They recruit better than us and have an easier schedule, it isn't debatable. Why are we arguing?

I don't care it Fitz played for NW and this is his dream job - he has to be disappointed in the fan support. How can over half the fans tonight be in Buckeye red...with a team like NW has?

Jukebox, you are a good poster, but this just isn't working tonight.

Nebraska does that pretty well too. I would be a little upset if I was a player: giving the fans the best team they've ever probably seen.

That is next years class, which indeed is very good. However, Northwestern has had a lot of success since 1995. My main point was, they have had that success with classes that are not as good as ours or with classes that are rated better, but not by that much. You can not deny that program has a very good habit of doing more with less. They should be a model for ISU. I can assure if Iowa State has had Northwestern's success since 1995, we would have a lot better recruiting classes then we have had.
