"FIGHT AGAINST GREED"! Really.....how ironic indeed. And what do you call a 2 year $3.36 million contract for playing a game RW........market value?

I don't think what you understand the definition of greed. Sure he's making a lot of money right now but look at what he's doing with it. If he were "greedy" then he would be stockpiling it, and at least doing everything in his power to make sure it kept rolling in when his contract was up.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

...I am not a "screw Royce" hater, nor am I impressed with him, but I guess I don't understand the point of this blog. That's great that he stopped and listened to the guy for five minutes. Maybe I missed it, but why not buy him a burger with his money? Why not offer to take him to a shelter or something? I guess nobody really goes to Denny's unless they're drunk, so maybe it's better he didn't drive the dude anywhere, but I don't know that this is doing much to show what a progressive person he is.

Obviously all allegations but to even associate with people like that and put yourself in these situations makes you look real bad...I've lost so much respect for him since he's left Iowa State. He was great at Iowa State and I loved who he was while he was here, he seemed like he had his head on straight but now it seems like he has no clue what he's doing to himself or his professional career and then just uses anxiety as his cop out.

The point was to show Royce "cares". Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Re: Royce White recent blog

A charitable person doesn't write about what they've given. They do it because it is intrinsically good and without considering what others think.

This is contrived. Royce is good at coming across as genuine but multiple recent events have me believing otherwise.

Yeah. I guess it's just a lot more inspirational if he were actually, you know, DOING something rather than just writing about a plight upon which he's not doing anything to effect change.

    Re: Royce White recent blog

What was the point of this article? Royce's casual encounter with a homeless man makes him feel better about himself (and "humanity").

I've seen this situation a thousand times, but it almost always includes giving them some money, food, or something tangible to help. Royce "gives" him a token short conversation and touches him on his shoulder "to show that I'm human!"

In these situations, I think you should ask the staff in the restaurant if they know the guy and his situation before you do anything. The fact that they didn't pay attention to him probably means that they were familiar with him (and his story may just be a story). Offering to take him to a shelter would seem like a nice thing to do. And then, if you want to do something substantial, like buying him a bus ticket to Alabama, give the money to the staff at the shelter so that they can buy it for him if they think it is the right thing to do.
