    Nile Sykes

I thought he had his own thread around here somewhere, but I didn't see one when I did a search for it. Anyway, has anyone heard anything lately on this kid? The only official visit he has scheduled is at Syracuse next week. About a month or so ago, there was a lot of commotion about him leaning towards ISU, but talk seems to have tapered off since. He would be a great get for us at a position we need.

Last I heard, he is in no hurry to make a decision, but we are still in good shape.

Looks like a good player. And an ACT score of 28. Damn good score.

Three-star Montini Catholic (Ill.) linebacker Nile Sykes visited Indiana Saturday and talks about his visit inside.

I would much rather get this guy then Kenric Young, who everyone has their undies in a tussle over.

Great prospect. Good size, great ACT score, and has no neck. Looks like a future all-conference linebacker.

Maybe because Young's offer list is to the floor. Why not both?

Don't we have enough WRs playing, redshirting, and committed though? That's my only thought on the matter. It seems we have a lot of guys at WR, we even had a CB move over to WR this year. DT, DE, and LB seem like bigger needs.

Says the guy who brought up a WR recruit in a LB recruit thread.

    Re: Nile Sykes

Iowa state isn't in a position to say no to a guy as talented as Young. I'd much rather have too many good WR than revert to the last few years.

Exactly. There is enough scholarships where it all shakes out in the end. If we are too WR heavy, the attrition will even that out in the next year or two. If there is a chance to have a game changing WR like Bundrage, I would take him over 2 wrs that only play sparingly. Besides, Sykes is another guy you take regardless as well.

Lots of twitter chatter lately that he is receiving a good amount of interest from Missouri.

Mizzou came in pretty late in the game, they would have a lot of catching up to do. But then again, the SEC brand seems to sell itself, even if it is Mizzou.
