Coaching matters. See: in front of your face.
Saban not only wins a national title at Texas....hell, he probably wins it his second year there.

    He cheats though too.

    Re: Chips are falling

No way he leaves Bama for Texas. All he has to do is go 1-1 against A&M and LSU to get to the SEC title game. Of course they'll be ranked in the top 5 as they win four weak non-con home games and the the other powers of the mighty SEC West like Kentucky, Vandy, Tenn., and the two Miss. schools. This is the beauty of their schedule. No Florida, Georgia or USC in the regular season.

Whereas, in the Big XII, he'd have to play all the teams in the conference. The top tier teams, the good teams, and even the bottom teams. He may make more money at Texas, however, because of the ease of their path to the SEC title game, he'll have a much easier route to the National Title game. Plus they pay their players better in the SEC.

If nothing else Texas can force Alabama to have to spend $4mil more a year and get nothing more for it.

You think Nick Saben is shaking about facing TCU, Oklahoma or Okie State?

It all depends on how many undefeated and one loss teams there in the country.

With everyone so in love with the SEC, Ohio State, Oregon State, etc. - a one loss Texas could miss out to other one loss teams. The national media influences this and they are not impressed with Big 12 football right now.
If/when Texas ever gets back to national prominence, they will be a media darling again. An 11-1 Texas team will be a very strong pick for the playoffs, the media will get back on it's knees for Texas, especially ESPN.

I predict this is going to happen.

He'll deny it all season — then bolt on the nearest Monday after Alabama's postseason game is done.

Probably not a popular thought on this board, but reality.
Actually 2 losses are fine, too. See LSU 2007.

If I was Texas I would have back stage passes and a lifetime pass to Austin City Limits as a bonus.
