Thanks Chris. Now I am stressed out about Cunningham.

I think Cunningham is definitely important, but I seriously question how much his status would influence Vaughn.

Re: BLOG: Why Josh Cunningham is critical to ISU's 2014 recruiting class

I think you are way overselling the importance of Cunningham's commitment in Vaughn's recruitment. Vaughn wants to be one and done, and I doubt Cunningham would factor into the starting lineup his freshman year. Plus, I think if we land Vaughn and Cunningham they would probably both be vying for time at the 3. Sorry, but I think all the young talent that is all ready on the team is what will sway Vaughn's opinion, not Cunningham's commitment.

Looks like Chris needed to pump out an article.

I'm not buying Cunningham's recruitment having anything to do with Vaughn's.

Re: BLOG: Why Josh Cunningham is critical to ISU's 2014 recruiting class

While Cunningham would be a good get I would respectfully disagree about it being critical for Vaughn's recruitment. Our returning players and the coaching staff is most important. The fact that it sounds like we are serious about the juco Benjamin, who probably would be more ready to contribute than Cunningham, is also a factor. I think we have an excellent chance to get Rashad. Because we have so few scholarships to give out this year the other recruits just don't factor in as much.

Re: BLOG: Why Josh Cunningham is critical to ISU's 2014 recruiting class

I think the incoming freshman class is far less important to Vaughn than the guys already on the team. I'm guessing he's not looking for much contribution out of Cunningham or Custer while he's here anyway. Swing and a miss on this one, imho.

Cunningham and Custer will have a greater impact on the prospects for the 2015 class than Vaughn.

I vote no on it making much of a difference.

You can make a great team out of a number of different pieces, this ain't football.

Re: BLOG: Why Josh Cunningham is critical to ISU's 2014 recruiting class

Wow, it all makes sense now. I think CW is beating around the bush. Cunningham and Vaughn ARE buddies. This is why everyones saying Vaughn is going to Iowa State. I've heard there was a REASON everyone is saying Vaughn will go to Iowa State, but haven't heard the reason. I'm pretty sure THIS is it.

Cunningham, Custer, and Vaughn will be our 3 men this class.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

I'll stay away from the Vaughn/Cunningham recruitment ties argument and bring up a different topic instead.

Since we are all obsessed with 247's Crystal Ball, Jerry Meyer predicted Cunningham to Oklahoma on 8/1/13.

Makes sense. I've heard that OU will be ISU's top competition too.

We're only obsessed with it when it is good news for us. In this case, that thing is completely worthless and a joke. Just bloggers pulling guesses out of their ***!

Re: BLOG: Why Josh Cunningham is critical to ISU's 2014 recruiting class

247 isn't watching Cunningham's recruitment very closely. I say that only because Jerry Meyer is the ONLY contributor to give an opinion and it was a month and a half ago. I do think Oklahoma is the one to beat, but wouldn't say it's a sure thing. I have heard Lon Kruger believes Cunningham is his, but a lot has happened in the last couple of weeks.

As for Cunningham's criticality...he would be a really good fit for what Fred like's to do, would seperate classes a bit and as Cydkar mentions, would be part of a solid base with Custer for future classes.
