    Home Field Advantage?

Our record attendance over the last year+ is well documented. The fans have done their part. The team has certainly not. Jack Trice is traditionally a 3-5 pt advantage according to Vegas, yet we've really struggled at home in the past season+. After this weekend's loss to Iowa, we are now 3-6 since the start of 2012. 4 of those losses have been by 8 points or less. So we obviously can hang with teams at home but haven't been able to close the deal nearly as often as needed.

Too much pressure on the team? Too comfortable at home? What is it?

Playcalling. One yard runs do not elicit much crowd response. Two yard bubble screens are over before they start. Three and outs are depressing. Losing to two in-state so-so teams are crushers.

Depends on how things go. If we beat Tulsa convincingly and K-State beats Texas. There might be a crowd for that game.

In terms of sales, that's done all the way to the Kansas game, and that may be there already.

In terms of actual, probably not. It really hinges on the Tulsa game. Lose that, and 35k physically in attendance will probably be the peak.

    Re: Home Field Advantage?

We don't have a home field advantage. We always let the visiting band own at least half the stadium. I'm not real sure what our band sounds like unless I hang around at halftime.

    Re: Home Field Advantage?

I see crowd attendance like a gambling compulsion. People want to be here to see the great upset when it happens. They are willing to "play the game" enough times hoping to get the big hit and be able to walk away saying they were there. Sooner or later the ISU crowd will begin enrolling in ISU Football anonymous. There's already a version for Cubs fans.

UNI and EIU were upsets, only in the wrong direction.

I only wish. I think that's why the stadium was so dead for both games. We got ***** slapped by both teams. Both were bigger/faster/stronger.

If you look at the UNI and Iowa games this year, I think you had a huge, energetic crowd that was ready to explode...but the team gave them very few opportunities to do so. That's what it comes down to. You have to make some plays and give the crowd a reason to get into the game.

Wow. I'm glad we are coming off one of the most successful 3 year periods in modern program history. I'd hate to see what this board would have been like in the 90s.

yep, after Bundrage's TD run the stadium felt more electric than at any other point this season, then I believe we gave up a long TD drive which killed it again

Reality check when you realize all 3 of those seasons were losing seasons.
