    Rodney Coe

    Boy I really thought a mediocre JC DE would be our answer at DT. Sarcasm.

    He's not good. And he's not 300 lbs. Any Iowa OL helped him up on a play and made Coe look tiny.

    Iowa had some success running right at him but he was pretty good at chasing down plays when they tried to run off tackle. His move to DT worked better than I thought it would. Props to him.

    i thought iowa looked bigger all around as a team. I know Yancy is working on a certain type of player but we got manhandled. David Irving looked good but the rest, not so much. Our dbacks looked bad as well. Ugh

    Coe was worth a shot. 4 star RB out of HS. He still has a year left....if he contributes at all over this year and next it will have been worth the gamble.

    Exactly. The staff knows that this kid is an athletic freak. The staff also knows that he has some work ethic/behavior issues that could impede his ability to take advantage of these talents. That's the risk reward situation. If the staff can get through to him at some point this year or in the offseason, he can still be a solid contributor at ISU at a position it's not exactly easy to find bodies for.

    We needed a player not a project. Especially not one with his attitude. Irving made a few plays early but was manhandled several times.
