    This quote stands out:

“We were taking shots,” Bundrage said. “We weren’t taking shots earlier in the game. That’s pretty much the difference.”

This a joke? Richardson blows. Kid is a stiff and a complete coward who folds under pressure. All he does is LOSE to awful teams. He is awful. But nice of you to dig up another excuse, wasn't his fault he quit in front of 30k traveling ISU fans in Memphis iether.

Over the line with this crap.

Hey Syracuse, never mind the fact he's got evidence in way of statistics that proves otherwise (even though he has lost a few games), you should probably pack up and enjoy your time away from ISU athletics. What a poor excuse of a 'fan' you are.

Give me a freaking break. He is the best player on our offense and played injured today. A healthy center and QB would have made the difference in this game. Okay, its only Iowa and they are hardly a D1 team. This team can regroup.

This article actually makes me very happy. Nice to read about something positive that this team and fan base can build upon. By the end of the season, we will be vastly improved and quite dangerous offensively. Especially when the o-line gets more experience and Sammy R gets more games under his belt.

You mean when he had the flu in Memphis? Not everyone puts up a Herculean effort ala Michael Jordan when they're sicker than a dog, despite your completely unrealistic expectations. I have no clue whether Sam is the answer even when he is 100% healthy, but can you be any more of a tool? Richardson's stats do not back up your unjustified character assassination of the guy.

Did Richardson steal your girlfriend or something?

I really, really, really hope you are right. We've gotta get moving on that sooner rather than later though. If we can scrounge out a 4-8 season at this point I'd consider that a win. And with our schedule that should be possible. But we need 4-8 to keep recruits and to keep the existing guys from giving up on the program.

The more I think about it, the more I realize you have to be one of those "Put in Barnett!!!" tools that can't come to terms with the fact that he simply wasn't good enough to play QB here. I think it's awesome the guy won us several games in unexpected fashion, but the guy was given chance after chance - more chances than you've given Richardson - to establish himself as the starting QB and he simply couldn't do it. He was only back there because at the very minimum the guy's decisions wouldn't hurt us by turning the ball over - at least, not until he started fumbling the ball on every other possession. The kid was incapable of throwing the ball downfield, really, the only thing he could do was run the zone read - until he started fumbling it. The sooner you realize that Barnett was the "play not to lose" option at QB and move on with your life, the happier the rest of us here will be.

Iowa's strength was their defensive line. Yet we kept trying to run up the gut. We needed to open it up and dink and dunk the ball down the field.

Not only is Iowa's strength in their dline, their defensive backfield is horrific against the pass. I'm a year or two past my prime, but I could run past Iowa's safeties with a cast on right now. So knowing that, we don't start to stress the middle of the field until the 4th? Yes, Iowa's DL owning the OL didn't give Sam a ton of time, but come on.

    Try
They were running the middle routes ..either Sam didn't see or was too "rushed" to go there....when he decided to throw middle, it worked great ... he will learn.. n please don't use excuse that was the play called, if u know anything, the qb has options each play. Right now we r not choosin the right options enough...

They are terrible, you'll see that starting in a few weeks.
