Died on a stolen dirtbike? Sounds about right. Anyone who knew this guy's history in Iowa the past 8 years or so wouldnt be surprised by this news. He was a menace around here after he was kicked off the team.
Hope his family is able to find peace.
While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
Didn't he have an offer from LSU out of HS but had to go juco route? Or am I thinking of another McCartney transfer?
Not sure if it was LSU, but he was an SEC type talent. He came straight out of high school, played for a year or two at ISU, then like the previous poster said, was in and out of Story County Jail for years.
Tyease was given a chance not many get because of his talent- he squandered many chances in life. Initially, he did have LSU interest but his past did not allow many schools to stay with him in the recruiting process. Mac was desperate following 2003 and needed talent as not many coaches get two rebuilds at the same job, especially in 8 years. Not all of these guys came in the same class or were recruited the same way but Tyease, Greg Coleman (kidnapping-drugs), Terrance Highsmith (the heroin dealer), Dominique Flower (never knew him in trouble), Jerry Gair (bank robber) and a few others that I am missing were individually nice kids who could not overcome themselves because nobody ever made them grow up. Ultimately, you could find these guys running together and you knew things were not going to end well. Back then, you just thought that meant in terms of football and getting a degree. Never dreamed that they all would be serving time for one thing or another.
Ironic that Mac got the program up again DESPITE those guys and not because of them.
Sorry this happened, surprised it was not sooner. I hope Tyease is finally at peace. Just a terrible end to the weekend
Your right- it didnt have to happen- maybe he was offered help to get past his troubles, namely jailtime- but in some cases you cant fix stupid. It sucks that this young man chose to go down the path of crime and for that it lead to his demise.
