ISU Article on the ESPN Big 12 Blog

Pretty good write up. Good Woody and Washington Quotes.

Iowa State hopes to rebound against Iowa - ESPN

“Urgency,” Rhoads said. “That’s exactly what I told our staff. It’s exactly what I told our players. Urgency in getting your job done. That’s in a 100 percent rate of speed at executing your responsibility — whether it’s a fit, whether it’s a tackle, whether it’s a route, whether it’s a cut-off block. Everybody needs a little bit more urgency in coaching and playing.”

“We kind of looked past UNI and focused on this Iowa week,” Washington said.

I didn't like reading this quote very much. But maybe it's a glimmer of hope for this game.

Thanks for posting, I don't frequent the blog anymore since the few useful nuggets end up linked here.

I think that's probably just coachspeak from a team leader. I think they did look past UNI, but not because they were so jacked to play Iowa two weeks later.

I don't bring my own opinions, just attack others.

I wouldn't think it being "Because we were focused on Iowa" as much as "Because we were focused on the next FBS team". If Tulsa and Iowa were swapped I bet the comment would be the same except "Tulsa" in place of "Iowa".

I think Brandon Chatmon did a great job on this. I just want to go on record with that. I stand by my criticisms of Griffin and Ubben but I can give credit where it's due.

Somebody please acknowledge the kind comment to the article by the Red Raider since I can't do it.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

Re: ISU Article on the ESPN Big 12 Blog

Thanks to espn blog switching to facebook comments, we can now confirm how big of a ****** "Vogter" is. That guy was always one of the first to comment on a post involving ISU. Leave it to a hawk to sit and wait for an ISU blog post so he could be the first one to rip on them. Vagter even had more posts on the Big 12 blog than the Big 10 one.

It seems Ubben has taken his leftover Griffin stock articles with him...this is a good thing. No need to pass those down one more generation.

Washington needs to step up in run support against Iowa. The LBs do too, but that goes without saying.

Not a bad read. Nothing too insightful or earth-shattering. But worth my 5 minutes.
