Help, I got a tough question

Lets start with this, I recently won two free tickets to the game. And of my best friends who is an Iowa fan. Someone I lived with for 5 years in Ames while I was getting my degree, and he still lives in Ames. And since I am staying at his place I gave him first dibs. I should say we have known each other since high school and were both in each others weddings. But the question I have is this. He is planning on wearing a Hawkeye shirt into the game with me. Should I tell him either he wears a neutral shirt or he doesn't get the ticket? or should I take another friend who is an ISU fan? or should i just let him wear a piece of crap Hawkeye shirt into Jack Trice.

    thanks in advance

Being BFFs with a hawk is your problem, not his. He should wear his hawk gear.*

    * unless he's an ISU grad, then he should by no means enter JTS.

IMO, the only requirement you put on him is to not act like an ***. He is in JT, not Kinnick.

Who cares what he wears (he is a Hok fan with or without the Hok T on) as long as remembers where he is.

Unless he went to ISU, let him wear the shirt. If he went to ISU get new friends.

Yeah. Whether or not he went to ISU is key information that is missing from this. If he was an ISU student and wants to cheer for the Hawkeyes let him get his own ticket.

Exactly. My father in law is a hawk fan and we are able to mutually attend each others events respectfully.

Re: Help, I got a tough question

Some more info to help the group. He is currently going to ISU, but he just started this fall, so he has been there about 2 weeks. Maybe by the time he gets his degree he will root for the good guys. And I know all about wearing Cyclone clothes in Kinnick. I wore my ISU colors during the Seneca game and right before half time someone peed in a cup and tossed it all over me and another Iowa State fan. My friend fled, but I stayed because I'm an stubborn *** and watched the most amazing comeback I have ever witnessed in person.

    hope this helps

i invited two tavern hoks to the OKie St game in 2011 and they wanted to wear hawkeye gear. I told them no deal so they wore redskin jersyes "because it looks like iowa state".

based on this new information you tell him he CAN NOT wear Iowa gear with your free ticket. stay strong my friend.

This is indeed valuable info. I say allow the hawk gear but work toward conversion. Find the dooshiest hawks possible and goad them into insulting the university...a lot. That **** helped me see the light and will hopefully work on your friend.
