Would you take a Hawkeye legend as OC

I know we have one but with the offense the way it has been the last two years. Would you entertain Chuck Long as the OC. Has Experience at OU. Found out he was not a great head coach but I thought his offense was pretty good at OU. I know he is working in Des Moines right now so he would probably be someone that would not look to jump at the next great option. Just curious.

If he was great as an OC, he wouldn't be in TV.

If he was terrible as an OC, he would have never gotten a head coaching opportunity.

I'd love to have Chuck Long as an OC, he accomplished far more at OU than Mess ever has.

If he's great, he must have a job now. But apparently he doesn't.
On a broader perspective: yes, I'll take a Hawkeye if he helps us. Mac was a Hawkeye and he did ok for us. At the end of the day, I believe everyone is a professional: there's no loyalty anymore except to the one paying your salary.

51 points per game in 2003. Yeah, I'd take that.

He was offered coaching jobs. Just wanted a little time off. He will be back and yes he averaged 51 points per game one year as an OC

I remember Lazzard saying it would take some sort of big change in coaching staff to make him change his mind about committing to ISU. Wouldn't changing the OC count as a "big change"? Man, there's a lot of impatience around here.

9-27 as a head coach. He really helped Turner get it done at KU as well. If that's a legend, I'll pass.

He may be getting money owed to him by being fired as a head coach. Sometimes if you take a job immediately afterwards, they don't have to pay you as much then.

Who gives a **** how he did as a head coach? Nobody is suggesting him as a replacement for CPR. Got any more completely irrelevant **** to bring to the discussion?

For me overall job performance trumps wishful thinking.
