Who is the third team qb?

Hey, Mess, I like the idea of using just two running backs like UNI did. Wimberly as the running back and James White as the qb. White has good hands. These two guys should be able to get two or three yards at least on first down. Can White pass like the UNI guy did?

Re: BLOG: Protecting Richardson critical to final 11 games of season

Sam is a decent runner, but he runs very straight up and is going to take more solid hits because of that. The problem that I see with the zone read is everyone has decided to shut down the RB by overplaying to stop them and then just beating the heck out of the QB when he does run. If ISU had a QB like Klein it might work, but Richardson is not that physical. Maybe the Cyclones need a two back set where one running back can be going left and the other right and let Sam choose whom to give it to or whenever Sam runs, have a trailing pitch man. They have to do something to get more carries from RBs and less abuse to the QB.

If he did that he would rushed for 30 fewer yards...and we would have lost four first downs....

Gotta say I was a little worried about the O-line. Living in Arkansas, people here ragged on the O-line all last year that Klenakis led. I don't follow the razorbacks much, so I don't know if it was a talent difference, coaching, or what, but I was a little worried the same troubles might follow him here. Then again, its not like the O-line has been outstanding for ISU the last couple years, so it can't get too bad can it?

I think I'd rather have Sam healthy all season, personally.

C'mon, CW--don't you read your own board? Don't you know that it's the play calling that's the problem--not the pass protection???

If your o-line is getting beat and you don't adjust the play calling to minimize that then yes, the play calling is the problem.

Why not use 2 Qbs at the same time to confuse the D?

What are they ragging on him exactly for

In 2012, Klenakis coached an offensive line that was third in the SEC in pass offense. His Razorback line allowed the third-fewest sacks in the SEC. Travis Swanson was named as an all-conference offensive lineman under Klenakis' coaching last season.

Klenakis led an offensive line that replaced three starters from 2010 and featured two players who made their first start of their collegiate career in 2011 to block for a UA offense that set or tied 16 school records. Arkansas led the SEC in passing offense (300.7), total offense (438.1) and scoring offense (36.8) to become just the fifth different school to lead the conference in all three categories in a single season and the first since Florida in 2001. The Razorbacks topped the conference in passing offense for the third straight season and became the second SEC team since 1992 to lead the conference in passing offense for at least three straight seasons.

Re: BLOG: Protecting Richardson critical to final 11 games of season

JW Walsh at Oklahoma State rushed 13 times for 125 yards. Their 2 RBs had 15 and 10 carries. That to me is a great rushing split. I agree with Chris from the podcast that you need to pick 2 RBs and stick with them. Arnaud mentioned that Shontrelle is still making his cuts behind the line. I'd like to see him on punt returns. Put Nealy on kickoff returns. White and Wimberly become your 2 RBs. Woody can be brought in for a blocking RB and catching in the flat. This 5 RB committee is not going to allow anyone to get into a rhythm.

Not sure I like Rhoads' answer to this. Basically, his answer is, if Sam gets hurt he gets hurt, that's what we have a backup for. I don't like that.

Not that Rhoads cares what I think, and he shouldn't. But we have serious issues if Sam Richardson continues to be our leading rusher in boith attempts and yards. That's just stupid. I'm sorry, it just is.

Umm...yeah. Exactly how do you do that, when they're getting beat that badly?

In other words, how do you know that the play calling wasn't "adjusted"? After all, Sam was getting swarmed so fast, it was impossible to tell what the call was.
