    Expectations Are a *****!!!

Reading all these threads I have come to one conclusion. Expectations are a *****, we expected a team that would play hard every play, we expected a youthful defense with speed, we expected a more powerful running attack that opened up the game for the pass. And in the end all those expectations were blown up. I have no grand illusion that ISU is going to turn into Alabama or Florida, I did trust this staff was pushing us in the right direction, and now I don't know anymore. I don't know if I can trust what CPR tells me anymore, he built those expectations that I listed above, and he didn't deliver a team last night that could make good on them. CPR better put his head down, and figure it out. He better earn his paycheck these next two weeks.

The All In theme is great, but it only works if the team is All In. If they aren't there is no way we can have a CyclONE nation.

It was like when I was a kid and saw a TV commercial for POP-ROCKS and thought I wanted POP-ROCKS so bad because they would change my life and I would transcend to being awesome. Then I put the POP-ROCKS in my mouth and was underwhelmed by what they did - I never bought POP-ROCKS again. **** you POP-ROCKS!

For the past couple seasons CPR said we will be a run first team. A run first team shouldn't have the QB leading in rushing yards.

Agreed especially with the talent we have at the RB position.

Or so we are told. That talent has either never peaked or isnt at the level I had them in my head.

    Re: Expectations Are a *****!!!

People hear what they want to hear. CPR said that it was a talented group of players but he also commented that they were inexperienced and that there would be growing pains. He also said that guys would go full bore, they may be going hard in the wrong direction, but they would go hard. We definitely saw that last night, didn't we? If you look at it honestly the unrealistic expectations were fueled more by feeding off of each other (like on CF) rather than by what the coaches were saying.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

This, we are the opposite of this... We give up on the run every season in every game... we dont let one RB get comfortable reading the lines, and it sucks. we give the ball to a slow RB 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage at a stand still with 1 yard to GO! Just plain stupid on any level of football.

Well we have heard for 3 years how good the offensive line and RBs look. I have yet to see one dominate performance from them against anyone.
