Which OT drive against OSU was a long struggle? The one where we scored on the first play (James White wheel route) or the one where we scored on the second play (Woody dive, Woody dive)? Must have been the second one.

    Re: K-State goes down

I think NDSU is damn good. They're probably better than half the FBS teams out there. Looked way better than Tulsa did. KSU's problem is that the defense looked lost, couldn't tackle, the LBs were way out of position half the time and weren't stout up front. You pull that on the best team in FCS and you're going to have problems. KSU also had a bunch of trouble on 3rd down. Anyone who doesn't think Klein was a huge difference-maker in the run game and just as a game manager is a fool.

K-State will learn from this, but it's a pattern that we Cyclones should be very familiar with. We've been in this spot with UNI before and luckily dodged the bullet and sometimes didn't.

Had to be the second drive. We scored on the third play, BTW.

    Re: K-State goes down

a little summation from a k-state fan who was at the game. first, ndsu fans told me exactly how this would play out. they had a great recruiting class 3 years ago. this is their best team ever. and the bison are a traditional div2 powerhouse, even when i was at sdsu, when we smoked camels rather than boogie. second, k-state is in transition in way too many places, particularly at qb and across the defensive front seven. and third, ndsu just manhandled k-state with excellent talent and way more experience. they were the better team without question. they took away state's special teams' advantages, ran the ball consistently well, and did field position like a college team facing a their jv. they are very well coached, the unanimous choice to win a third consecutive national championship (11th overall), and it showed. they just kick k-state's arse.

    Re: K-State goes down

I'm not going to make too much fun of K-State considering we got NDSU to open the season in Ames next year. After watching UNI punk us Saturday night, that NDSU game will have me worried all summer

Hopefully they will not get a lot better by the time ISU plays them, but it wouldn't surprise me.
It was KU that signed 17 JC guys this last year. Snyder pretty well struck out recruiting jucos to fill the front seven graduation losses. He lost his entire front four from last year and the two linebackers that he lost both stuck in the NFL. His second team front seven played very little last year. Now you know why! Bill would not have scheduled NDSU back in 2010 if he would have known how tough they would be this year.
