Surprised that EJ Bibbs isnt the clear #2 at tight end. I imagine he will still see the field a ton though. Good to see Luke Knott in the two deeps as well (clearly no surprise, some thought he would even start) but it will be fun seeing another Knott running around the field and making plays.

Yeah. I wonder what is going on there. I hadn't heard a lot of talk about Lalk from the coaches during camp.

That is the one that caught my eye. Maybe the coaches think that Lalk is pretty good and want to protect Tuftee for the first game???

During camp they were limiting Tuftee's snaps in order to keep his knees healthy. Maybe they feel that against UNI they can use him sparingly and get Lalk some experience.

Coaches often pull a few surprises to reward & motivate players based on camp performance. No surprise here other than Irving. Please let this be his breakout year...

I might be a homer for Lalk because they are family friends but the kid has a TON of potential. Am I surprised that the took over Tuftee? Yes. But he's 6'-6" (and that is accurate) has great feet and is incredibly intelligent. Think Bykowski 2.0. Not a better game to get his feet wet as a starter than against a team that he should be physically better than in every aspect (which will allow for some nerves and mental break downs) that might come with your first division 1 start....sorry FBS start.

    Re: UNI Depth Chart posted

after playing against him in high school (when he was a TE) i am not surprised by Lalk, he has a HUGE frame and a nasty blocking disposition, if he pans out he will be a good one, especially if they can keep him on the inside.
