    Predict next Sunday's headline

A week from today we'll have our first game in the books. What will the papers lead with?

I am going to go with a simple 'Cyclones Cruise in Opener' with the sub headline 'Six players score in rout of UNI'.

    Re: Predict next Sunday's headline

If you're talking about the Register I doubt we'll be the headline. I'll go with Huskies Squeak by Hawks, 49-11

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Re: Predict next Sunday's headline

I think the bigger story will be "Hawks Struggle in Loss to NIU"

Followed by "Clones Out Run, Out Play Panthers"

Iowa State Manchester United Pittsburgh Steelers

Probably be lucky to even have a story in the Sunday edition. The game won't end until after 10:00.

(Main Heading) Jack Trice bleachers just as hot as Clones Offense.
(Sub Heading) 4 different tailbacks score in rout.

Des Moines Register: ''Hawks embarrassed in Opener.'' Sub headline: ''Panthers lose Opener.'' No ISU mentioned in a headline.

    Re: Predict next Sunday's headline

If ESPN mentioned the game, the headline would look like this:

''Iowa State Hawkeyes win in rout''
