    US cellular phones

    Hey all

I am getting a new phone through our US cellular plan.

What phones do you recommend? I am not an I phone person, so blackberry vs droid vs windows.

    Which model is best?

What are the pros and cons.

I would look at any previous threads, but these phone lines keep changing all of the time.

I have had both blackberry and droid phones(the last windows phone I had was so long ago it doesn't even count).... i was not too impressed with the blackberry I had several years ago but i'm sure they are not the same any more.

Does the windows phone have many free aps?

Pretty much has to be the Galaxy S4 for US Cellular, I don't think I'd even look at another one.

I guess maybe the Note 2, if you don't mind a very large phone, or if you prefer that I suppose.

Sounds like people don't like the s-3. I'm pretty sure I don't want used.

    Re: US cellular phones

I have Galaxy S3 and I love it, but mine is rooted, unlocked and running a custom ROM so not much resembles the stock S3. They are a good phone that you shouldn't be scared of. The S4 is just an upgraded version of the S3. Has faster processor and more goodies for features but they are both good phones. I'd stick with droid phones myself, but I have never had a blackberry so don't have much useful to add for those phones. Haven't had a windows phone since the old HTC touch pro 2 but there is so much more to do with android phones. I know USCellular is getting crapples pretty soon but I do NOT like them. My kids all have ipods and I could throw all them things at a brick wall whenever they want me to do something with them.

    Re: US cellular phones

US Cellular has the Motorola Moto X Google phone coming out in the coming weeks that I think I will get. Right now it is $199 unless you are switching to US Cellular then it's $124.99. Google owns Motorola now and put a lot of resources into this phone. It looks like a great phone as they focused on battery life and performance. They claim it has a 24 hour battery life which would be more than twice the life of my current Samsung Aviator gets. The one drawback is that the camera isn't the greatest but if you're like me and hardly use the camera on your phone, it isn't a big deal. You also get the new Google now which is Google's answer to Siri which I've heard from several friends is much better than Siri. For example, you can say "Ok Google Now remind me to let the dogs out when I get home" and using the GPS in your phone, it will remind you to let the dogs out automatically when you get home. Hope some of this info helps! I might take advantage of US Cellular's 30 day return policy to make sure the battery and performance is as they claim because my current Samsung Aviator is garbage. Seeing as Sprint has completed it's purchase of US cellular I would wait till you get their line up of phones at your disposal.

I don't think they bought all of US Cellular. They just bought some of US Cellular's markets. U.S. Cellular Information Resource Center

Your right, a friend on facebook posted something about having to switch. But I have not been able to find anything that says Iowa was included in the deal.
