    Re: Seneca released

Not surprising, he was basically brought in to be an extra QB in camp and they cut him early enough that he will have the opportunity to latch on to another team if anybody is willing to pay him.

That's surprising. He was by far their most proven backup.

    Re: Seneca released

His quarter against the Raiders was probably the worst performance he's had since that 2002 Oklahoma game.

3/6, 32 yds, 1 INT (led to FG), sacked twice, 1 fumble lost (returned for TD).

    Re: Seneca released

Probably getting towards the end of his run, not bad putting 9 years in the league though.

Eyes closed, head first, can't lose.

    Re: Seneca released

What is he, 33 or 34 years old now? If this was his last hurrah then congrats to him on forging a long NFL career. Most players would be grateful to hang around the league for the better part of a decade.

    Re: Seneca released

he's getting to that age where it's tough to justify a roster spot for him when you could be developing a young guy.

Great run in the NFL and one of the all time greats to wear cardinal and gold.

    Re: Seneca released

Similar story to sage retiring. He had been in the league long enough that they had to pay more than a backup qb I is worth.

he should still get a nice pension from the NFL..........so as long he is not in a ton of debt, he should be able to live a comfortable life.

It'd be nice to get Seneca back to Ames more often and involved in the program.

Hell he could start for the Vikings from what I've seen so far.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
