I know. Deace thinks TCU is all that and a bag of chips. We'll see...

Deace realize TCU has lost 3 starters and not even taken the field yet?

Oh and I would put a Benjamin on his 4-8 ISU prediction.

Flip it around...7-5, 8-4 this year. Too much hype for some (TCU/Oklahoma) and too much parity in the conference...upsets will abound and the conference is going to pay attention to ISU from here on out.

I'd put a benjamin on his prediction that Iowa State, West Virginia, and Texas Tech all don't make it to a bowl game. At least one of the three will.

I think TCU will finish at third at best, but that's just me.

Gary Pinkel for both SEC coach of the year and SEC coach most likely to be fired. I would like to lean toward fired, but their schedule isn't too bad this year.

I think Texas, OU, or Okie State win the conference. No way TCU does.

Re: Deace: Conference predictions & bowl projections

Three predictions I made before opening his piece, Michigan will have less wins than he predicts and Iowa State & Iowa will have more wins than he predicts. After reading it, I still feel that way. If you set the over/under on pre-bowl wins at 11, 4, & 4 and go under/over/over I would be surprised if at least 2 if not all 3 end up that way.

Re: Deace: Conference predictions & bowl projections

Im sure his prediction is based on returning "starters" from last season. But is ISU really filling that many holes?

Secondary - lost Givens and Reeves, but move Broomfield (starter last season) so only 1 true new starter
Linebacker - Played without Knott for a quarter of the season, so only 1 true new starter in Brackens but there is more talent behind them than last year with Luke Knott and White.
DL - Lose three starters, but Irving, Morrissey played significant minutes in almost every game and now with Irving at DT, you only have one fresh face in Coe on that defensive line and he is a JUCO so not "youthful" like a rFr would be
OL - 2 new starters but the depth on the offensive line is better than ever and the two new starters are not fresh faces and have already seen action except for Dagel.
QB - Not a new starter
RB - Everyone back, better than last season
WR - Loss of Lenz and Horne, but progression of Bundrage is there and Gary/West both return
TE - Better than last season

    So am I missing something?
