    I was a Marine Corps brat with 2 much older brothers. Lots of late nights watching war and samurai movies. I didn't necessarily catch everything in Seven Samurai when I was 6 or 7, and I definitely had little appreciation for the cinematography.

    Once watched Seven Samurai 3 times in one day, back to back to back. First with Subtitles on, then with a critics commentary, then with subtitles off. By the third viewing I was almost understanding the Japanese dialog.
