You talk about wedding planning for 15 minutes and you wonder why everyone is clowning with you on Twitter?

Thanks for all the hard work and free content Williams! With that said, gotta say you are being a bit selfish expecting the groom to cover the cost of your tux for you to be a part of one of the biggest days in their life. They are probably already droping between 5-12 grand on the wedding, adding another 600ish is a selfish plee considering you will eat and drink for free (Unless wedding party is ******) and get to party all night with your friends. To me, small price to pay. But yes, schedule your wedding around football season, not during.

This fall camp has been so under control that we are forced to discuss these pressing topics! Thanks for listening all.

We can agree to disagree. But to your point, I disagree. Your'e exactly right. Say you're dropping 10 K already...What's another 600 bucks to be courteous to your friends?

This is where I'm at with our upcoming wedding of 300 guests or so. My fiancee balked at the idea at first but the tuxes aren't going to make a dent in the budget. We're going to pay for her bridesmaids hair appointments to even it out

Fair enough, but isn't paying $3-4000 for alcohol an even trade? I had to pay $9/head for beer/house wine & non-alcoholic drinks. Food was another $4-$5 if I remember right. And for the record, my grooms gift was a name embroidered cooler and $25 of the tuxes. Besides, you can always say no if you don't want to buy a tux

That's why you buy six kegs of Busch Light from Dinks Honk N' Holler in Clarinda Iowa and cases of boxed wine at Sam's Club when your reception is at the Page County Fairgrounds!!! The smell of manure goes away after about a half hour. If you're drinking, it's more like 15 minutes.

I hired the Page County Cattlemen to cook our food. Did hamburgers and hot dogs. Gave them a $100 donation and bought the meat at Hy-Vee on my own. Had chips and potato salad as a side. People loved it.

Ha ha, I wish we just eloped. The place we picked wouldn't allow us to bring in our own stuff.

Went to a wedding a few weeks ago where the Groomsman actually bought tuxes; ended up being the same price as it would of cost to rent, plus you actually get to keep it.

I don't think the tux thing really matters as long as you keep it even. The majority of my close friends group from college all got married in about 1.5 year span and we all paid for our own tuxes or everyone else's weddings. As long as you don't have one cheapskate friend who gets free tuxes for years and then refuses to pay, what's the difference.
