Fun read! Although all of the talk about losing to a Division I-AA school stings a bit.

Although I think it's funny, I still think that the USC loss at home to Stanford is the worst loss.

Re: Iowa is #1...worst loss of the year

Uhh... Mr. Schrager, KU beat Neb. in Lawrence in 2005 40-15.

    10. Kansas 76, Nebraska 39; Nov. 3: Nebraska's season was already pretty much in the tubes by the time these two squads squared off, but the nation really took notice after this one. Nebraska, winner of 36 straight games against Kansas entering the noon showdown in Lawrence, was exposed and exploited by its long-time punching bags. The fifth straight loss for the Huskers, it was the nadir for Nebraska football. As I wrote then, on November 3rd, "After 76-39, it's time to put an end to the Bill Callahan era. Dig that grave and start stenciling in that tombstone." A month later, it's already been buried.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Also mentioned at the bottom of the article is Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will play the half-time show at the superbowl. Ugh; that'll remind me to make a beer run.

Re: Iowa is #1...worst loss of the year

The funniest part of this is that three of the top ten losses in this guys opinion are from the big ten and all i ever hear from my Hawk friends is that the big ten don't have the great records because everyone beats up on each other....well from the looks of things, so does everyone else.....

Great find, i will enjoy sending this to every hawk fan i know!!!!

Go clones stay off this list!!!!

Re: Iowa is #1...worst loss of the year

I loved the Iowa loss but I really don't think it's close to the worst loss of the year. I'd have to say the Michigan loss to App St or the Nebraska thumping would have to go before it. All are bad losses but this year was full of bad losses.

Yeah, I'm not seeing that as the worst one. In the top 5 probably, but not the worst.

Re: Iowa is #1...worst loss of the year

I think part of his point was how the loss affected your season. Michigan still got to a bowl game, despite that loss. Iowa's loss was to a team that they should have beat and it kept them out of a bowl game, combined, that makes it huge. But I have to agree, it's not the worst.

I agree... but if you really think about it, losing to W. Michigan kept Iowa from going to a low end bowl. Losing to Stanford kept USC from playing for the National Championship.

    Yup.

And losing to App. State likely kept Michigan out of the BCS. Yeah, they still have 3 losses, but so does Illinois.

And we all know, any Big 10 team with 3 losses is greater than any other 2 loss team.

Yeah, I don't even think that's even close to being worst.

USC/Stanford. Mich/App St. Notre Dame and just about anybody
