    Re: WBB schedule released

E Washington and Auburn are winnable but challenging neutral court games.

Any guesses why we are traveling to Cincinnati? I assume it's a home-and-home, but it seems kind of random.

Also, Holy Cross plus (most likely) St. Louis seems like a slightly better Cyclone Challenge lineup than we usually have seen in the past.

Big 12 Releases 2014 Women's Basketball Conference Schedule - Big 12 Conference - Official Athletic Site

I recall last year there being an imbalance in the round robin scheduling of the Big 12. Again this year, ISU plays 3 of the teams twice in the first month (OU, TTU, WVU), and then plays 3 teams twice in the last 3-1/2 weeks of the season (Texas, Kansas, and Baylor).

It would seem more balanced if opponents faced each other once in the first half of the season and once in the second half.

That looks like the kind of schedule I would complain about for months on end.

I tend to be an apologist for the easy non-conference slate each season given how difficult the conference season always is. That said, it would be nice to get a home-and-home against someone better than Cincinnati.

I know. We've done that before.
I don't think anyone needs to play all of the top 25 in a non-conference season, but I don't see how people justify spending money to watch that schedule. It looks absolutely horrible.

I would think that raising the difficulty even a little would be better prep than that schedule.

Remember Cincinnati was in the Big East.

I would definitely like to see only one game against a Dakota school.

We generally play 2-3 solid teams in the Thanksgiving tournament. It seems to me finding an easier Thanksgiving tournament and instead scheduling 2-3 decent teams to a home-and-home would be better for the fans and roughly the same difficulty level.

Just a complete waste of time in hilton until January, with the exception of Iowa.
