The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

    mgoblog: What Happened?

Interesting.....kind of makes me question how ethical Kirk Hierbstreet is. If this is all true, I can understand Les Miles having to do what he did.

Ficker I believe Desmond was the source. However, I also believe that Miles is gonna screw LSU like he did the Pokes.

The whole situation is rather amusing, borderline hilarious.

In 4 or 5 years though, we may be calling it genius - that's the beauty of it all.

Re: The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

You guys have to remember that this is the same blog site that broke the story that Kirk Ferentz took the job last week.

I highly question anything in blogs. No matter how credible they think they are.

    Remember...

Tommy: Hey, I'll tell you what. You can take a good look at a butcher's *** by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?

Mr. Brady: [confused] What? I'm failing to make the connection here son.

Tommy: No, I mean, you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ***, but then..no. It's gotta be your bull.

    Richard: [embarrased] Wow.

I'm not believing anything till someone gets hired. I don't think there is a conspiracy theory here.

Re: The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

I am basing my idea as Desmond as a source strictly on the following:

    1. Desmond is on the hiring committe.
    2. Desmond works for ESPN College Football Gameday
    3. What better way to make the people who pay your salary look good by having them break the story before anyone else. And since Desmond is on the hiring committe there is no way he can break the news himself so he lets herbie break it.

But I also believe there was a second leaker on the grassey knoll just to the right of the College Footbal Gameday stage.

Re: The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

I found one part of this blog interesting. Remeber how Iowa lost Stoopps to Oklahoma when Bowlsby could not guarnatee him he would get the job at the end of the process that was started. Stoops said no and took the job at Oklahoma and the Iowa faithful said it was becuase he was not promised the job in the interview.

Everybody likes Jim Grobepr grand dad of Wake Forest. Callaham even beat him twice. He was interviewed for Nebraska job in Atlanta by Osbourne. He takes about five years to build up a program. Can the people of Michigan wait five years for a Jim Grobe to get the team back to eminence?

If the coach is any good... it will not take 5 years at Michigan. They were in the top 5 last year and had the talent to do it again this year but ended up with 4 losses in a wild season nationwide.

You would not be building from scratch at Mich.

Re: The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

Although I'm sure they probably have some of this correct...this blogger is factually challenged...hell, he even gets the name of the LSU AD wrong in the link above...so, I'm a little dubious of everything else I read.

Having said that, I think Michigan is clearly showing that they either are very arrogant or don't understand the world today...they are not going to get an existing top tier coach by running him through the wringer with an extensive interview and then trying to negotiate a lowball contract "because they are Michigan and they want someone to want to be their coach for something other than monetary reasons".

Lastly, I know for certain that Michigan did attempt to contact Miles on Sunday after the SEC Championship. What I do not know is if they actually did make contact.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Re: The Destruction of Les Miles to Michigan

I don't believe this is over yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miles end up at Michigan...if not, it does look like Stoops to OU all over again! Stoops wanted the Iowa job, but when he had to "interview" for it while OU came with more money and "the attitude of we want you", he took the OU job. These coaches have egos that need to be stroked! Michigan may have made a huge mistake!
