    Anyone have an Insignia TV?

Best Buy house brand. Prices are attractive and customer reviews seem favorable. I heard they are made for Best Buy by Samsung but just lack some of the bells and whistles. Don't know if that's true or not.

Anyway, be interested to hear anyone's experience with them. Thanks.

They are made by " XOCECO" in China.

XOCECO = Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic Co. Ltd.
They also are sold under the name " Prima ".

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

I got one about 4 months ago for our bedroom. I think it is the 42 inch led model and it was like $400. My wife had surgery and was stuck in bed for a month. She has no complaints about the TV. I wouldn't be happy with it as the main TV but it's great for what it is.

We have had a 32" Insignia for the past 5-6 years. No complaints.

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

They are made with a mixture of Samsung and LG parts. Decent TV, had a 32" with built in DVD player. I have recently sold it as I no longer wanted a TV in the room it was in, but I was happy with it during the time I had it. Like others have said, I certainly wouldn't get one as a main TV but it would work for another area.

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

I bought an Insignia tube HDTV back when flat screens were still pretty expensive in 2005. The thing developed a purple spot in the top corner of the screen within a week. Decided from that point forward I would never buy anything other than known brands again.

Wouldn't be "the" main TV but I'm leaning toward a Vizio in the same price range now!

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

I was told by an engineer at UNCTV (PBS in North Carolina) that Insignia was a TV made by Zenith, but relabeled for Best Buy (or at least the TV model I have is). It could be they contract out the manufacturing to a variety of companies and just relabel them all as Insignia. The one I have is a "flat screen", but is a normal TV like they had pre-HD/thin flat screen. It's a beast, but gets the job done while I'm still a poor grad student getting over-the-air TV and Netflix.

I have a 24" Samsung I use as both a TV and a computer monitor. I love it, and will definitely buy a Samsung whenever I'm in the market for a big boy TV.

We've had 2, and really enjoyed each one.

It's a nice value if you're not looking to spend a ton of money.

Was it near a speaker? Sounds like the kind of spot that shows up on a screen when it's placed too closer to a stereo speaker.

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

My wife also bought an insignia tube TV while in college that the color red didn't work when we got it home. It was a pita to return since it barely fit in her car. I think we had to take it out of the box to get in the back seat.

There is a 39'' one in the living room here; I like it more than the 32'' bargain bin Toshiba that I have in my own room. Pretty good.

Re: Anyone have an Insignia TV?

We have had a 46" 120 Hz LED for 3 years and have no problems at all. I think the picture is as clear as any tv i have seen. The only thing I have noticed is that the sound is nothing great when watching a dvd or something like that. You have to have it turned up very loud, something a cheaper surround sound might take care of. Overall I am very happy with the tv, especially for the price.
