    Re: WVU ticket sales

Take note everyone with ISU getting rid of the hillsides this will happen big time at JTS if tickets are not priced affordably. Trying to get 365 for 6 home games a year is not easy and is a big difference from trying to sell those seats for 200-250. Lots of people will sit in bad seats for 30 bucks but once you get to 60 bucks for bad seats people might not want to spend that on bad seats who isn't going to try and play the stubhub game and spend 20-40 extra bucks and get seats that aren't bad for 80-100? You can only pull it off 350 dollar season tickets in crappy seats (end zone or not between the 10s or really high) if you are winning 10 games a year and have someone like Notre Dame on the home schedule.

Oliver Luck is trying to get every penny he can out of his fanbase. He could be charging reasonable prices and have a 10 year wait list despite the recent struggles its hard to have a "bad" home schedule in the Big 12 but again 365 vs 200 is a HUGE difference. But selling 20000 seasons for 365 bucks still brings in more money than selling 300000 for 200. Money is similar one just looks a lot worse on TV.

ISU ticket office and AD seem to be a well run organization though who make good judgement calls and have priced their tickets to sell for the most part so I think they can price the new expansion correctly and it work out well.

Not according to my math. Also, I was not aware that WVU had the biggest stadium in the world. Impressive.

WVU needs to get a few games on the Longhorn Network to grow the brand and whatnot

    LOL

I always thought their stadium was bigger than 60k...

WVU has a big fanbase when they are winning 10 games a year. Getting saved by the Big 12 when they were peaking just raised their fans expectations/demands even higher.

No chance they can hit 10 wins playing 9 Big 12 games anytime in the near future will be a lot of empty seats in Morgantown this year. I met a journalist from there and talked to him for hours in a sportsbook Vegas and he said Holgerson has lost complete control of the team and is drunk all the time and lives in a hotel still hasn't bought a house. Oliver Luck is out of there first P5 job that offers to him.

Nothing about college sports is "affordable" anymore. The schools that are affordable are in the MAC or FCS.

wvu has been a bad football team of late. that's their major ticket hurdle. texas tech announced a season ticket sellout, which tells me that expectations are very high in lubbock. god knows what ku has sold, where people are calling for 3-5 wins.

Hopefully ISU doesn't take its fan support for granted. Any other place and you might be seeing 30k at games after both history and recent success with this football team (or lack there of). The culture in Ames is an anomaly.
