    Race Scanner Headsets (Nascar)

We are looking into buying 2 sets of headsets to use at Nascar races - headed to Bristol at the end of the month. We rented them in Daytona from a few years ago - we plan on hitting maybe one race per year so it seems to make sense to get our own.

Don't know much about them and was looking for suggestions from those that do own them.

I own a uniden digital trunking scanner. I highly recommend so you can use it for races and listening in on city/county/state and even federal agencies. Its kind of a fun hobby, I listen to everything from jordan creek rental cops to lifeflight helos, to all kinds of government agencies.

The problem is this scanning technology comes with a price.. Buy one good scanner and run 2 sets of headphones...

also if you do get into the hobby, check out radioreference.com for all kinds of info and other scanning geeks like me.

PM me if you want tips on programming a scanner.

I just bought a set from Racing Electronics through their EBay store. RE1000 scanner, splitter, and 2 RE-24 headsets for $159.97. I had my order in a week. It also came with a sticker to have the RE trailer at the track program all frequencies for the race season. I highly recommend the package.

This is the one I got:

    or their actual website:
