I will get to see Tennesse's new facility later this fall - that one I'm really looking forward to.
I thought what, at least temporarily, set our weight room apart is the weight "stations". I can't remember the company but I think we were the first site to have their latest version installed. The Oregon ones look like just a cage with weights but maybe all the pieces aren't in the picture.

Oh, and we have a full size indoor football field attached to our weight room not just some girly 40 yard electronically timed track so Oregon can suck on that!

What's really disturbing - is that our athletic department helped fund that.

Well, us along with every other "Nike" AD. Seems wrong in a way.

Don't think their indoor is attached right to their new facility but think it's pretty close:

Thats nicer than any Pro team's facilities that I've seen. But what else would Oregon do with their money? They can't pay their players... wait they do pay their players. And get caught. And nothing happens.

Its hard to imagine Oregon not becoming one of the big power houses in College Football. If I was a recruit, I would go there in a heart beat

As with all of our facilities - Sukup, Bergstrom, the new track, soccer field, and softball stadium - while they're not super fancy and opulent, they do say that ISU is very serious about sports and in competing.

Yes, our squat racks are 10x nicer than Oregon's. We have the automated hydraulic "mono" racks, and I believe every rack also has a Tendo-Unit (which measures speed and power of the bar).
Oregon has the standard power rack. Both are very nice and expensive racks, but our's are just a lot nicer with more bells and whistles. Our squat racks are the best of the best. A mono rack (rack where you don't have to walk out with the bar, the clips just flip back and fourth to catch the bar) with hydraulic rack adjustments (just push a button to raise or lower the bar rather than having to manually move the racks for the bar) are huge bonuses.

I also like how our weightlifting platforms are built level with the weight room floors surface. Rather than Oregon's that are a standard platform raised about 3" above the ground, like most weight rooms. If you've spent a lot of time around platforms, those things can be easy to trip over and stumble on, especially after a hard squat day and your legs are numb. Another bonus feature to ISU's.

What do those 2 things tell me?
It says ISU spent it's money on actual weight lifting equipment and efficiency in the weight room.
Oregon spent it's money on looks. Really? Why in the F do you need a hardwood floor in the weight room?!? That floor is going to get so beat up from weights being dropped on it, it will look like Crap in a couple of years. The floor alone probably cost as much as all of our Hi-Tech squat racks (which cost 5x as much as Oregon's racks)
Oregon probably has a "Please wipe off your shoes" sign hanging on the weight room door.
