Cyclone sports revenues up dramatically in 2014!

    http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/

Great news for the program, and a trend that is only going to continue as planned conference revenues continue to rise under the current contract. The future is bright.

We may not be good, but at least we've got money.

and 212/230 in percentage of revenue in subsidies.

If we got $10 million in subsidies (about the median for these 230 schools), we would be in the top 40.

In fact in terms of just revenue without subsidies we are ahead of

GTech, North Carolina State, Uconn, VaTech, Maryland, Arizona State, and Rutgers.

That puts us at 41st in non subsidy revenue.

Phil Knight pretty much owns Oregon athletics.

It's kind of sickening to see how subsidized the non P5 conference programs are.

Foolish comment demonstrating minimal life experience. Money isn't everything, but it isn't nothing either.

When it comes to athletic departments, you RARELY have one without the other....money matters because it equals facilities and resources. And you need both of those to get better recruits...and better recruits equals better performance. Generally, of course.

I think you took his comment far too seriously.

Only Wazzu and Utah behind us among P5 schools. Having increased revenues is great but it is relative. And we are way behind most. Almost unreal how far behind.

What? Look at my post. Taking away subsidies we are 41st.

Also, even with subsidies we're above Colorado, Oregon State, Miss State, Utah, and Washington State.

And that's with a 56,000 seat stadium selling both hillsides at $125 for a team with 5 wins the past 2 years.

It's pretty incredible all things considered, and I would expect it to skyrocket if we are just an average team.

What I took away from that is ISU is last in league. I agree money isn't everything, but ISU football more than anyone needs to look for ways to exploit market inefficiencies

This is overall Athletics Dept revenues - not just football.

We probably generate more revenue than TCU does, but they aren't listed because they are private.

Lot's of private schools like Northwestern, Vandy, ect are probably behind us as well.

Now, they have rich donors to tip the scales in their favor in that way, but our revenue considering our success is incredible.

I don't see it stated anywhere that this is football only. Kansas and UK so high tells me it's the total AD.

Also, the numbers don't make any sense for football only.
