    Power Ranking the Big 12

Rankings seem to be about right. They think Kane will be a 1st team All big 12 though. I'd be very happy if he is.

Re: Power Ranking the Big 12

Seems fair. I'd put Baylor below us because Scott Drew.

I honestly think this is a down year for KU. Great year for Wiggins individually, but I don't think the team gels, and Self can't win every conference championship ever. It's just not possible. Either OKST puts an end to it this year, or we do next year.

"There's always some guy that knows what the hell's going on. I get a kick out of how much of an authority these guys are, who have never been to my practices. That amazes me, how they can tell me what's wrong with my team. And I must really be dumb, because I'm there every day and goddamn I have a hard time figuring it out sometimes."-Johnny Orr

Re: Power Ranking the Big 12

Agree with a lot of what this guy says. His rankings look relatively close to mine, outside of his Oklahoma optimism. I'm still not sure how he has them as a top half team outside of the fact that he has a lot of faith in Kruger (Kruger is a stud). Also, Kane as a 1st team selection caught me off guard as well. Figured he'd be a solid player for us, but 1st team would be fantastic. Whether that comes to fruition or not, if he turns out to be that good, odds are we'll be dancing yet again.

I think when it comes to the #5 spot - it's a case of who might be the least bad. I couldn't say right now if KSU or OU will be better. I really like Buddy Hield - think he's going to be one tough SOB the next 3 years. Hornbeak isn't bad either.

Amazing when a top 50 recruit is "under the radar"

I thought the same. I'll give Rothstein the benefit of the doubt, and assume he thinks because he's at Iowa State - he's out of the limelight (as compared to Baylor or KU) and therefore the media isn't falling all over themselves to talk about him. ...If that makes any sense.

Im ok with that. Thats when he can pop em in the mouth. We can only ride this under the radar thing for so long. Eventually they will get wise to what Fred recruits.

Ya, I see 4 legit teams..... OSU, KU, Baylor and ISU in that order. Then you have KSU, OU, WVU and Texas. One of those teams will probably surprise and be solid. The rest plus Tech and TCU will be pretty bad very likely.

I suppose WVU could surprise and be #5 too... of course a lot can happen almost 3 months before the 1st game. Imagine an early season injury to let's say - Smart. could knock them back. As always, injuries, eligibility, and trouble can change rosters quite a bit.

That would be a GIANT surprise.

Good article. I don't know if I believe in Baylor or not yet. They seem to underachieve a lot (even though they beat Iowa in the National Title game).

If their hotshot PG is really gone, I do not believe in them.

He also had Jevon Thomas under the 10 impact freshman. He isn't in the top 150 or ranked by ESPN or Scout. To me that would be someone who is under the radar, not our Thomas.
